I reached through the demon's chest, passing through his physical form on a metaphysical level. I grabbed that familiar part of his being, the part that gave him life, heart, memory, and emotion. It was his soul. And it was now mine to manipulate.

When I pulled the soul out of his body and held it in the air in front of me. His body, now devoid of this life-giving entity, collapsed onto the ground. 

"AHH! AHH! AHH!" He screamed again and again as his ghostly hands gripped my wrists. He was suspended off the ground, his knees bent and legs just dangling uselessly. "AHH! H…h…h…how did you do this?" He was still screaming and far more panicked than I had ever seen anyone before.

"I pulled your soul from your body. Isn't it obvious?" There was a slight maniacal laugh in my tone.
