Capítulo 161: Confrontation #161

I raised an eyebrow as I looked down at Crocodile, who seemed to be trying to maintain his composure despite the chaotic situation. "Tryna keep up appearances?" I couldn't help but taunt him, grinning confidently. "Suit yourself, but it won't help you one bit..."

Without wasting any time, I decided to make the first move. I launched a powerful punch toward Crocodile, channeling my devil fruit powers to unleash a gigantic fist of concentrated flames. The fiery projectile hurtled toward him with intense force, a testament to my determination to bring him down.

But Crocodile was no pushover. He growled in response, a dangerous glint in his eyes as he summoned his own devil fruit abilities. "Desert la Spada!" he called out, forming several solid blades with fan-shaped edges made of sand from his hand. With a swift motion, he sent them flying toward my fiery fist, creating a clash of elements.

The collision was spectacular, a mesmerizing display of fire and sand battling for dominance. The air crackled with the energy of the clash, and the force of our attacks sent shockwaves throughout the area.

I didn't hold back, pouring more power into my attack, determined to break through Crocodile's defense. The flames intensified, their heat threatening to melt even the solid sand blades that stood in my way.

Crocodile's face showed no signs of fear or concern.

He was confident in his abilities, believing he could weather any storm I threw his way. But I was equally unyielding, refusing to back down from the challenge he posed.

The flames and sand blades collided, and the casino's foundation trembled, bearing witness to the titanic forces at play. The sheer intensity of the clash caused the building's walls to crack.

With a burst of fiery power, I managed to break through Crocodile's sand blades, sending them dispersing into the air like grains of sand caught in the wind. The force of my attack pushed Crocodile back, and he stumbled slightly, his expression finally betraying a hint of surprise.

I seized the opportunity and closed the distance between us, my resolve unwavering. I unleashed a barrage of fiery punches, each fueled by my desire to push Crocodile to his limits.

But Crocodile wasn't one to be taken down easily. He deftly maneuvered through my attacks, using his sand abilities to create sand barriers that absorbed the impact of my blows.

The battle raged on, the exchange of blows and devil fruit powers leaving the casino in ruins. The patrons and workers had long fled, leaving Crocodile and me to settle our score in this explosive showdown.

As the dust settled, we both stood our ground. I smirked at Crocodile, refusing to show any sign of weakness. "Is that all you've got?" I goaded him, my voice dripping with confidence.

Crocodile's eyes narrowed, and he grumbled, "You're more trouble than I anticipated, brat. But don't think you've won just yet..."

Crocodile surveyed his crumbling casino, his expression hardened as he made up his mind. With a decisive move, he leaped down to the lowest level, transforming his body into sand to soften the impact. Kneeling on the ground, he placed one hand on the floor and exclaimed, "Ground Death!"

Thick waves of sand whirled around him, and a powerful force emanated from his position. The ground beneath him began to crack and crumble, and the destruction spread like wildfire. The remnants of the casino collapsed, turning into sand as Crocodile's power reshaped the entire area.

The transformation was astonishing to witness. The casino, once a bustling and extravagant place, now vanished, replaced by a vast desert. The sandstorm swirled around Crocodile, enveloping him in an almost ethereal shroud.

"Now that's more like it..." Crocodile muttered, seemingly content with the desert he had created. He turned his attention to me, and I met his gaze with an amused grin. I had allowed him to execute his plan without interference, knowing that I could have easily stopped him if I wanted to.

In truth, I had the upper hand all along. I possessed the power to remain suspended in the air, safe from the sandstorm's effects. I could have bombarded Crocodile from a distance, overwhelming him with relentless flames until he succumbed to exhaustion. It would have been an easy victory, but where's the fun in that?

Instead, I decided to let Crocodile unleash his full power. It was always more entertaining to face an adversary at their best. I enjoyed the challenge, and seeing Crocodile's full potential on display only fueled my excitement. Though, that was probably the method of talking.

I landed on the ground, and with the chaos around us, the two of us stood like opposing forces, each with their own motives and goals. Crocodile, the warlord of the sea, is intent on ruling over this country and unearthing an ancient weapon. And me, a simple pirate with a vested interest in the situation, here to get paid.

"Now it's a fight..." I grinned, my excitement growing as I brandished my trident and infused it with my fiery powers. There was no need for formalities or idle chatter. I knew the real battle had begun, and it was time to put Crocodile in his place.

With a burst of speed from my Soru technique, I appeared right in front of Crocodile, wasting no time in launching my attack. I swung my trident downward, aiming to strike him with full force. But Crocodile was prepared, blocking my strike with his hook, a determined look in his eyes.

"Don't get carried away, brat," he retorted, a hint of annoyance in his voice. He retaliated quickly, bringing up his sand-covered arm to swipe at me with a technique called "Barjan."

The crescent-shaped sand trail followed his arm's motion, and I knew getting hit by that attack could be dangerous. I made a split-second decision, jumping back to avoid the attack while simultaneously pointing my free hand at Crocodile.

A torrent of fiery energy surged from my hand, creating a focused beam of intense flames aimed directly at the warlord. The scorching heat tore through the air, leaving behind a trail of smoldering embers as it traveled toward Crocodile.

As the flames closed in on him, Crocodile made a swift move, transforming into sand to evade the attack. The beam collided with the ground, causing an explosion of dust and debris.

The clash between Crocodile and me was reaching its peak. As Crocodile extended his hand, a whirlwind of sand began to form, swirling fiercely in his grasp.

He called out, "Sables!" and then forcefully pushed his hand forward, releasing the spiraling sand tornado toward me. The tornado grew in size as it greedily absorbed more sand from its surroundings, closing in fast.

Not one to back down, I raised an eyebrow at Crocodile's trickery and responded, "Nice trick, but I've got one of my own!" With a flourish, I mimicked Crocodile's motion and conjured my own spectacular tornado, this one made of scorching flames. The two opposing tempests clashed head-on, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of fire and sand.

As the flaming tornado met the sandy one, the intense heat began to melt the sand particles, causing them to fuse together. In the heart of the collision, the sand was rapidly transformed into molten glass. The clash between the two powerful elements created an ethereal dance of swirling colors, with the golden hues of the sand blending with the fiery reds and oranges of the flames.

The glass particles formed by the melting sand sparkled like a thousand tiny stars, casting a dazzling display of light as they scattered in all directions. The intense heat and pressure from the combined tornadoes caused some of the molten glass to rise high into the air, forming magnificent glass sculptures that seemed to defy gravity.

With both tornadoes at their peak, the sand and flames roared together, creating a deafening symphony of power. The ground beneath us trembled with the sheer force of the duel, and the surrounding structures began to shudder from the raw energy being unleashed.

As the tornadoes continued to collide, the molten glass began to rain down around us like a magnificent shower of shooting stars. The glass particles cooled in the air, solidifying into beautifully intricate shapes before landing on the ground like crystalline confetti.

Amidst the spectacle, I kept a steady focus on Crocodile, excitement burning in my eyes. The two elemental tornados consumed one another, but the fight was far from over.

"Looks like we're gonna have to settle this the old-fashioned way..." I said, grinning as I brandished my trident and prepared to charge Crocodile, to which he merely clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"So be it... I'll stoop to your level just this once..."
