Meilyr heard the peculiar song at the same time as the other magi. The strange, dissonant notes were familiar. He had heard them before. 

It was Maia's melody! 

The trill coursing through the flow of Mana felt exactly as it had when the Adonal Virgin's bewitching voice had swept the wits of every person in the Great Sanctuary of Priene. 

It was malicious and corruptive, making use of the Vile Ichor's enthralling call to subject its victims to the singer's whims. 

And now, a similar spell was compelling a swarm of magi to encircle and attack their position. 

"A truce!" he called to Tsuji and Sept. "Let's join our forces for now." 

Meilyr was furious at Vivi's betrayal and Tsuji's refusal to let him exact his vengeance. He hadn't even spent more than half a day with the girl, and treachery should have been an expected course of action. In some cases, he would have done just like her.
