Capítulo 2: Different worlds

- Unknown POV -

It had been a year since I was reborn and in that year a lot of shocks had been in store for me. I had learnt that I was indeed right that I was Asia more specifically Japan. Luckily it didn't take me all that long before I could say some of the words, and my baby brain had an easy time processing the words and understanding some of the easier words that my parents would say to me.

Yes, I had accepted them as my new parents as there was nothing I could do to get back to my father and sister in my previous life, and it wouldn't be fair to my new parents to dislike them and not show affection. I had tried to act like a real baby would, the problem was I didn't really know how normal babies acted. I didn't cry that much, which would be expected of a 17 year old being stuck inside a baby's body.

I also learnt that my name was Habaki Takahashi and that my parents names were Ichika Takahashi and Akira Takahashi. By now I had gained my normal sight back, and I had finally been able to see my parents in full view. As I had expected my father was quite tall, probably standing around 6'2 if my estimate was correct. He had black hair and dark red eyes, which could probably make him seem a bit scary if you didn't know him. He wasn't overly muscular nor too thin, but just defined enough where you could see that he worked out.

My mother was a beautiful women who stood at 5'7. Just like my father she had black hair which reached down to her lower back. She had black eyes filled with kindness. Her body could probably leave some men slack jawed, and that is where I will leave it, she is my mother after all.

My own appearance was still a bit hard to tell my round baby face still had a good amount of fat. I had the same hair as my mother and father, and it seemed my genetics gave me color from both of my parents. My eyes were black with hues of a dark red color. I was quite the average baby if I had to say so, nothing really out of the ordinary.

- Habaki POV -

The biggest shock for me came when I was 6 months old and saw my father lifting a bowl of yogurt without touching it. He had seen my shocked eyes but took it for a baby's curiosity. He smiled with a big grin and made the bowl float right in front of me. I tried to grab the bowl to see what sorcery he was using to make the bowl float, however before I could reach it he had moved his hands with a backwards motion and the bowl floated out of my reach.

I looked at him and then at his hands where a small red glow was shining. He told me something which I unfortunately didn't understand yet, but that didn't stop me from trying my best to say something in Japanese but only small gurgling noises came from my mouth. I damned my voice cords for not being developed enough to talk.

From then on I would see people on the street with different attributes which made them stick out like a sore thumb. One guy had a shark head, how that worked I didn't know, while another was a weird amalgamation between a human and a dog. I wondered how I hadn't noticed this before, maybe I wasn't the genius baby I thought I was. It was a real shock to see that these powers were completely normal, or at least it seemed they were normal with how people went on with their day without batting an eye at the people with these superpowers

It was when I was about 2 years old I learned that the superpowers were actually called quirks, which I thought I had heard some of my friends at gymnastics talk about when discussing anime. However anime hadn't interested me at all, so every time they would talk about it I mostly tuned them out. It seems my foolishness would cost me dearly, if I had just listened I could have had even more of a head start than I already had.

Well back going back on topic, these quirks were powers that most people had about 80% of all people had a quirk. My father had told me this after I had finally been able to ask him, one of my proudest moments in this life if I had to say so, it was right up there with being able to walk without help. Yes you heard right, Habaki Takahasi was on his way to become a big boy as his mother would say.

I had asked what my parents quirks were, it came out a bit wrong as I was still learning how to talk but they had understood. My fathers quirk was called air manipulation, it allowed him to manipulate air in a 2 meter radius around him. It sounded quite powerful, but I didn't know anything about other quirks so it might not be. As for my mother, her quirk was Total Concentration Breathing. As the name suggested, whenever she fully concentrated on her breathing she could increase her physical abilities. It also allowed for more air to come into her lungs and therefor increasing her heart rate giving more oxygen to her muscles and cells.

The way they talked about seemed completely normal which made sense since they had been living with it their whole life, but for me it was anything but that. Yes I had seen people who didn't look like normal humans, and that my father had lifted a bowl without touching it, but actually hearing that almost everyone had these quirks was mind boggling. However an exciting thought came to me, I most likely also had a quirk. My mind began racing thinking of all the different quirks I could have.
