Gustav looked at his smartphone and at the number displayed on it. He felt a chill on his back and face, although he felt a pleasant warmth as he entered the kitchen.
To answer or to reject?
There was no point in running away. But why is he even calling?
He answered.
"Did you miss me?" he asked in a dry voice.
"Is this how you greet your father, whom you haven't spoken to in months?"
"And how am I supposed to greet a man with whom I have nothing to talk about?"
"I need you at the shareholders' meeting."
Gustav clenched his teeth. So his father was calling just for this? Exclusively professional matters? But what could he expect from this man?
"You have all my authorizations," he growled in response.
"I don't need your authorizations, just your presence. Your uncle wants to push through early elections..."
Ah yes, of course! Father is afraid for his chair.
"I'm busy. You'll manage on your own."
