Capítulo 44: Chapter 42

As soon as Raizel and Akeno walked inside the Dining Hall, the people present there stopped chatting and turned to look their way.

The daughter of Baraqiel froze when she saw a certain crimson-haired princess sitting next to another crimson-haired girl, and her face turned a little pale.

"Raizel!" Sona brightly smiled and brisked over to him to throw herself in his arms, and he spun around with her, hugging her tightly.

"Welcome back." He planted a kiss on her forehead, which made her blush a little.

"We came back a few hours ago. Your Hall was locked..." She said and then hugged Akeno, who put on a strained smile. "What were you doing?" She asked the Half-Fallen, who tensed up.

"I was helping her through an important process." Raizel mischievously said, and Akeno failed to hold back her blush.

"What process?"

"Secret." He grinned at her and then slowly walked towards Rias, who smiled and stood up.

The two hugged each other, and Rias held onto him for a long time.

"So, how was the training?" He asked when they finally separated.

"Secret." Sona quipped, and he chuckled at her words.

Suddenly, Hilda entered the Hall, and Raizel sighed before smiling at her.

"You had some very important appointments today, Master Raizel."

"My apologies, Hilda. Something important came up."

The maid smiled at his words.

"You were supposed to be present with the Satans, Master. Odin and his Family were expecting to meet you or the Queen."

"Yeah, I know." He smiled as he glanced at Akeno, who had her head lowered in shame. "It's fine. I will see them tomorrow anyway. Where's Freya?"

"She's with your Mother. Lady Albedo is with them."

"I see." He nodded and then accepted the drone she handed to him.

Raizel quickly went through the files on it, frowned, and then sighed before handing it back to her.

"I understand."

Everyone could tell that it was something serious, and they wanted to ask him about it when Hilda left. However, Raizel changed the subject.

"Ready to watch my first Rating Game match tomorrow?"

"Yes!" Rias enthusiastically nodded to him and then pulled him to sit with her, but then she quickly walked over to Akeno and gave her a hug.

Only the keen ones noticed that she did it out of a formality, and kept ignoring her as everyone started chatting.

"I am sure you will win." A soft voice suddenly sounded out, and Raizel smiled when he looked in its way.

"Thank you, Gasper." The little boy smiled and then turned quiet again, just silently observing everyone.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you. I accepted Tosca in my Peerage!" Rias excitedly said. "Guess what Evil Piece she has now."

"What?"

"Guess!"

"A Pawn?" He raised his brow at her and watched her mouth drop open in shock.

"How do you know?!"

"I guessed." He laughed. "Congratulations on acquiring a Servant with a Sacred Gear, just for a single Pawn."

"Thank you! Albedo told me that it would have consumed 2 Pawns if I had accepted her before going on our Training. I am strong now..."

Rias happily chatted with him, intending to make up for all the lost time, and no one minded listening to their chit-chat and occasionally joining it.

"Raizel. What's going on with Cleria Belial?" She suddenly asked, and he curiously looked at her.

"What?"

"How is she your Bishop now?"

Everyone understood that she and Sona were unaware of the things that happened in the Devildom during their absence, and no one really wanted to talk about it.

"We will talk about it some other time."

Thankfully, Raizel chose not to inform her about the details during their meal.

"Oh..."

"Where's the rest of your Peerage? I heard that Shirone and Kuroka left early in the morning." Sona changed the topic.

"Kuroka took her out for training. They should be returning in an hour or two." He glanced at the clock and said. "Everyone else is getting ready for tomorrow's event."

"Come on. Your Peerage will sweep your opponent and take away the 92nd Spot. I doubt that Renly Vassago's Peerage is even going to put up a great fight."

"Never underestimate your opponent." He smiled at her, and Rias rolled her eyes at his words. "And it's not just about the Rating Game match. There will be exhibition matches, duels, between the young Warriors of Asgard and the Young Devils."

Kiba, Akame, Loup, and Hanekawa, all perked up their ears. Even Tsubaki and Reya seemed very interested.

"Is that the surprise you were talking about?!" Rias looked at her sister, and Mito grinned and nodded her head.

"Yes."

"Can we participate as well?"

"Yes."

"Awesome!!"

As soon as the meal ended, almost everyone rushed out to have some mock battles, including Sona, but Raizel stopped Rias and Akeno.

"Yes?" The Crimson-haired princess harmlessly smiled at him, and he smiled back.

"Don't be too upset with her."

"Who?"

"You know who I am talking about."

"I don't." She feigned ignorance.

"Oh, okay. I will tell Mito you are not upset with her." He shrugged and turned around to leave, and both the girls froze.

"Wait, Mito?" Rias rushed forward and grabbed his hand, furrowing her brows. "What did Mito do?"

"Oh, she pretended to be you and ordered Gasper around." He smiled, and her mouth cutely dropped open and she burst out laughing.

Raizel smiled at her and gently placed his hand on her head.

"You are hurting her. I hope you realise it." He lightly said, and Rias froze.

She lowered her head after she felt him plant a kiss on her forehead, and then heard him leave the Hall.

The silence weighed on her heart, and then she gritted her teeth and decided to leave.

"Rias."

She stopped when she heard Akeno call out to her.

"Yes, Akeno?"

"I know I have upset you, but I can not lie to you. I don't regret what I did. And as selfish as I might be sounding here, please, forgive me."

"Oh..." She took a deep breath and sighed. "I will forgive you the day I will find it in my heart. I can not lie to you either."

Akeno tensed up when she saw her best friend, whom she considered a sister, give her a faint smile.

"And I hope you will not disappoint me in the future."

She left the words behind, leaving the Half-Fallen with teary eyes.

"Yes, Master. I promise you, I will never be selfish in anything other than him. I love him." She whispered, and unbeknownst to her, Rias had stopped outside the Hall and listened to her words.

The Crimson-haired Princess sighed at her words and continued walking aimlessly down the hallway.

"Why did you do it, Raizel? Couldn't wait? Would I have denied her to you?" She asked when she passed by him, and he pushed his back off the wall and walked by her side.

"I could have if she did not need me to prove to her that I truly desired her. She needed me to make her believe that I viewed her as more than just your Servant. She needed to know if I would choose some unvoiced rules over her and refuse her." He sighed.

Rias stopped and turned to meet his eyes.

"When are we getting married?"

"Next year, on your birthday."

She surprisedly looked at him and then smiled.

"Okay. I forgive you."

"Thank you."

"Anything else I should know about?" She folded her arms on her chest and playfully asked.

"Yes. Do you know that I am Sairaorg's Stepfather now?"

The disbelief that dawned on her expression was something he would never forget in his life.

"What?! You and Aunt Misla?!"

"Yes. She was granted the divorce and has been named Heir Vapula. I have taken her as my Official Mistress."

"She was suffering from..."

"She's fine now, stronger than ever."

The two kept chatting all the way to the Training Field, where everyone was busy with the spars.

He also informed her about his relationship with Roygun Belphegor, and what happened to Cleria Belial.

The two sat away from the rest and were soon joined by Sona, who too wanted to spend time with him.

Both the girls patiently listened to him as he filed them up on everything they had missed and were unaware of.

"It's time you start to actively search for more Peerage Members, Sona." He said to the bespectacled girl, who nodded to him.

"Yes, I have been thinking about it. Now that Asgard is open to Devildom, maybe I will be able to recruit an Asgardian, Giant, or a Walkure."

"Ambitious, eh?" He smiled at her, and she smiled at him.

"I can't lose to you two."

Rias and she shared a grin, and he smiled at their competitive spirit.

Suddenly, he sensed some urgent footsteps, and he stood up and opened his arms for Freya, who jumped right in his embrace.

No words were spoken as she just held onto him, breathed in his scent, and then raised her head and tip-toed to kiss him.

"Does this mean you missed me?" He teasingly asked when their lips separated, and she smiled at him and stole a peck.

"Come. Mother wants to see you."

After she informed him, she smiled at the people in the Training Field, who bowed to her in a greeting.

"Excuse me." He apologetically nodded to Rias and Sona, who playfully pouted at him, but then giggled as he left with his maid.

"Looks like it is something important."

"It's is." Freya beamed a smile at him. "Mother has prepared a birthday gift for you."

"She did?" He was genuinely surprised.

The last time he received a Birthday Gift from his mother was years ago when he was given Freya as his Maid.

Raizel could not help but grow a little excited as he guessed what the gift was.

However, nothing could have prepared him for what he was about to receive.
