Capítulo 28: Chapter 28: Marley's Arrival!

"I must say I had a good time as well." Replied Kare, looking the same as Sarah.

"So did I." Said Maga lying on the ground with a slight smile.

"Yeah, that was quite fun, especially when Sarah got hit with the coconut." Said Elif with a laugh while also lying on the ground.

"Hmph, It wasn't that funny." Replied Sarah while sticking her tongue out at Elif, though Elif responded by grabbing some of the food on the ground and throwing it at Sarah.

"Haha, next, keep your mouth closed, Sarah." Said Elif, laughing as some of the food he threw at her landed in her mouth, causing her to quickly spit it out in disgust before throwing some at Elif.

As Sarah and I continued playing around, I noticed a staff member come running inside toward the manager while seemingly nervous or scared, but I looked away as whatever was going on wasn't something I was curious about. However, shortly after the staff manager arrived, a young girl busted down the doors and made their way in with a servant and a couple of guards following behind them, I was pretty annoyed at some interrupting my fun, and I was about to order them to leave, but Maga and Kare's reaction stopped me.

"Marley, what are you doing here!?" Questioned Maga as he and Kare quickly stood up from their previous position and stared at Marley.

"Hmph, why should I need to explain myself to you two? But If you wish to know, the whole city has gotten word of the Prince dining at the Elven Cuisine Pagoda, and as such, how could I not go and meet the Prince." Said Marley, with an arrogant expression while speaking before Maga and Kare.

"I've also learned that my little sister, Sarah, was also dining with the Prince. To think such a waste dared to do such a thing, it's laughable." Said Marley as she walked over to Sarah, who had been looking down ever since Marley arrived.

"S-S-Sister, I-I c-can e-explain." Stuttered Sarah while shaking in fear before Marley's presence.

"Don't bother; I don't wish to listen to your pathetic excuse, besides it seems like you've been having fun being covered in food; you no longer resemble a noble instead, you look like a lowly peasant; it angers me that such trash is my little sister. Now, where is the Prince?" Said Marley while looking down at the fearful Sarah with disgusted eyes.

"I'm the Prince, and what do you want?" Asked Elif, in a not-so-pleasant mood after watching how Marley treated her own family.

I was only annoyed when Marley busted right in and interrupted my fun with Sarah, but seeing how she acted and how she treated her own sister, made the happy mood I had utterly vanish, and it caused me to detest her already. While sitting on the ground, I watched as she walked towards me; when she arrived before me, I was already standing, though because of the difference in our age, she was much taller than me.

"Are you not going to bow? You are in the presence of a Royal Elf." Said Elif, though because of his young age and shallow experience in socializing, everyone could hear the slight hostility in his voice.

"Oh, I forgot." Replied Marley before doing a slight bow, though even before the Prince of the Empire, her arrogance didn't seem to diminish much.

"Hurry up, tell me what you came here for, and then leave; your intrusion has ruined my fun." Ordered Elif while crossing his arms.

"I had just come here to greet the Crown Prince; however, seeing as how I've ruined your playtime, I'll leave; let us meet again at a later date Prince." Said Marley mockingly as she turned around and started walking towards the exit.

"Get up, Sarah; we are leaving; I'm sure father would like to know what happened today." Ordered Marley, full of arrogance once again, while not even bothering to look at Maga or Kare as she walked past them back to her entourage.

"Y-Yes, M-Marley. I-I must leave now; it was a pleasure to meet you, Maga, Kare, and Prince Elif." Said Sarah, depressed, while bowing before Elif one last time before following right behind Marley.

"See you later, Sarah; I had fun playing with you." Stated Elif with a smile as he tried cheering up Sarah, though with how quickly they left, he didn't know whether it worked or not.

When they disappeared, the tense atmosphere Marley brought along with her presence also dissipated, replacing it with a gloomy atmosphere.

"It was a fun experience, Prince Elif and Kare, but I should return home now." Announced Maga as he bowed before Elif and left.

"I should also leave Prince Elif; though it was a pleasant time, I wouldn't mind doing it some more." Said Kare, as she also bowed before Elif and left, leaving Elif all alone.

Now that I was all alone, I became slightly dejected, walking over to the manager, who had been hiding in the back; I was going to quickly pay for the food and leave as I didn't wish to stay here anymore.

"What's the price?" Asked Elif blandly.

"There is no need to pay Prince Elif for my restaurant to be the first place the Crown Prince ever visited; it is more than any type of payment I could ever receive!" Replied the manager while barely being able to contain the joy at the thought of his business being known as the first-ever location the crown prince went to; the amount of reputation he'll receive would be enormous.

I just nodded back before making my way towards the exit; after I finished walking down the spiral staircase, I finally left the Pagoda, and when I did, I saw how the streets around the entrance of the Pagoda were filled with people. They all started praising me and saying other stuff about me, but I wasn't in the mood, so I just continued walking till I arrived at my carriage that Mandy and her group were guarding.

"Prince Elif, you have returned. Was your time enjoyable?" Asked Mandy, who was kneeling before Elif.

"It was fun, but someone ruined it, so I'm no longer in the mood to explore the city; let's just return home." Answered Elif blandly while getting into the carriage, Illumia following him.

"R-Right away, Prince Elif!" Said Mandy, slightly surprised that someone was stupid enough to displease Elif, though she didn't think about it for long as she's just a guard meant to protect and listen to the Prince's orders.

While sitting in the carriage, Illumia nor I talked, so we just waited in silence until we arrived back at the castle, and after about half an hour, we returned back to our territory. Seeing as we've returned, I walk out of the carriage and rub the unicorns before heading down the path leading back to the palace; while walking through the hallways, I had momentarily forgotten that the guards were still following me.

"You guys no longer need to accompany me; I've returned home." Said Elif while waving his hands as if shooing them.

"Yes, Prince Elif, just call us if you need our services again, and we will immediately arrive." Declared Mandy, while she and the rest of the royal guards bowed before splitting in a different direction than Elif.

With them no longer following me, I continued walking down the hallways till I arrived at the throne room entrance; walking in, I noticed that neither mother nor father was there, so I left and decided to go visit Elaine as I was still quite annoyed at what happened today.

When I arrived at the cottage where our family usually gathers, I saw grandfather sitting on the patio with a cup of tea while watching grandmother do some wood carving.

"Elif, what are you doing here? I thought you were out exploring the city?" Asked Tyler curiously when he saw Elif and Illumia walking up the path, as it hadn't been long since he left the palace.

"Hmm, dad, did you say Elif is back?" Replied Maria, who had just opened the door, leaving the house.

"I was, but then some stupid girl ruined my fun, and I didn't care about exploring the city anymore." Answered Elif, still annoyed and frustrated that his fun was ruined.

"Oh, well, then wish to talk about it?"Asked Maria, who was sad seeing how crestfallen Elif was and thought about cheering him up.

"No, I'm good. Anyways mother, I'm going to go and play with Elaine for a while." Responded Elif as he walked past Maria and made his way inside the cottage.

"Ok. Illumia, explain what transpired during Elif's outing." Replied Maria before quickly shifting her attention to Illumia.

While Illumia informed mother of what happened, I walked past a window and saw father out behind the house taking care of his garden; after waving at him, I continued walking and arrived before Elaine's room.

Opening the door, I see Elaine in the darkness lying on the bed; she's sleeping on the same bed I used to use when I couldn't walk, it's not nearly as big as my current bed, but I could still comfortably sleep on it. Stopping at the edge of the bed, I carefully get in so as not to wake her up and lay down next to her; turning to my side, I start poking Elaine softly on her chubby face.

'Hehe, her reactions are so adorable, though I don't know how Marley could act so mean to her own sister; she's quite the jerk. Still, I hope Sarah is ok; I enjoyed playing with her.' Thought Elif, his mood already improving from watching Elaine's adorable reactions.

'I would never do something like that, Elaine is my little sister, and she will get whatever she wants, and if someone dares to treat her like how Marley treated Sarah, then Hmph, I'll have Illumia kill them!' Thought Elif while imagining Illumia slaughtering anyone who was mean to Elaine.
