Capítulo 534: Chapter 534: This is My Explanation

Across the faces of everyone present, a blend of astonishment and bewilderment had frozen in place.

Tyranastrasz, with a voice both feeble yet clear, echoed throughout, "Do not be so shocked! In some ways, I share your sentiment. For my beloved queen, I'd willingly sacrifice everything. Even if it means sullying my own conscience, tarnishing my own soul, and murdering humans for the sake of those vile orcs. So... this is merely my act of atonement."

"You..." Daelin's grip on his blade faltered, then almost in a daze, he supported the humanoid red dragon who was on the brink of collapsing.

"Yes! This is the Red Dragonflight's compensation to you, to humanity, to the entire Alliance. Are you satisfied now?"

"I..." Daelin began, wanting to say 'I am satisfied', but the words tasted bitter and couldn't pass his lips.

"Be not amazed... this is what you've earned. Had you been but a cowardly weakling, I truly would've torn you apart. I, Tyranastrasz, have roamed this world for ten thousand years, and I ought not to fall to someone insignificant." Despite Daelin feeling the dragon's life force waning rapidly, its voice remained lucid.

"Sss..." Everyone gasped. Indeed, the pride of the Red Dragons was bone-deep. Ordinary beings, regardless of their grand reasons or lofty positions, truly lacked the right to demand justice from the Red Dragonflight.

Indeed — only heroes are deemed worthy by the dragons.

With this realization, an aura of respect surrounded Daelin.

Tyranastrasz continued, "I am aware of my grievous sins, so, after my demise, you may dispose of my body as you see fit, as compensation to you and to the entire Alliance... but that will be the sum total of the Red Dragonflight's reparation."

Suddenly, in humanoid form, Tyranastrasz forcefully pushed Daelin away. Before the eyes of all present, he rapidly enlarged. In mere seconds, he transformed back into the magnificent beast tens of meters in length.

Yet now, unlike his prior majesty, this mighty dragon was finally nearing life's end...

After a time that felt like an eternity, when the dragon's vast body remained motionless, everyone confirmed that this terrifying creature, who had wreaked havoc across the lands, had finally atoned for his misdeeds.

Then someone began to clap. It was Duke. He applauded the brave father who, knowing his own limitations, dared to challenge a mighty dragon alone.

More joined in the applause, soldiers of various nations on the square struck their shields with their swords, honoring Daelin in a warrior's tribute.

Yet the victor of this unique dragon-slaying battle sat on the ground, drenched in cold sweat, unable to rise.

Jaina and Tandred rushed over to assist Daelin. Instead of resting, Daelin insisted on approaching Duke.

"Thank you, young Duke," the seafaring hero said with a genuine smile. "Even after this war, you should visit Kul Tiras often."

"Of course, of course," Duke replied with a smile.

Daelin playfully glanced at Llane beside Duke and whispered loud enough for Llane to hear, "If Lothar or Llane ever treat you poorly, you can come to Kul Tiras. Prince or Grand Duke, pick your title."

"Hey! Hey!" Llane feigned anger.

After the celebrations, Llane inquired about the Red Dragonflight's next moves.

Duke shared, "I never expected Tyranastrasz to act like this."

"That was an ancient red dragon! Just below the queen in power. Will the Red Dragonflight not care?"

"It's fine. He was already close to death."

"What?!" Llane and Anduin exclaimed in unison.

"Aren't dragons' lifespans infinite?" Anduin asked.

"Yes, but even the 'Giver of Life' can't counteract the ravages of disease. Tyranastrasz has suffered for years. This is no secret among dragons. His life force has been waning, and only with Alexstrasza's support did he persist," Duke sighed.

"So, he acted purely out of gratitude and then sacrificed himself to mend the rift between the Red Dragonflight and the Alliance?" Llane pondered.

Duke smirked, "That's a question I can't answer. But I believe our alliance with the Red Dragonflight hasn't ended."

Anduin perked up, "You mean the Alliance could form a Dragonrider Corps?"

The Horde's dragonriders had been a constant thorn in the Alliance's side. Even with the Wildhammer dwarves' gryphons, the Alliance often found itself on the losing end.

Duke slyly grinned, "It's Stormwind that has the chance to establish a Dragonrider Legion."

Both Llane and Anduin burst into laughter.

"Lastly, Duke, how will you revert to your true form?"

"That's my little secret," Duke said with a mysterious smile.

After bidding farewell to the Stormwind duo, Duke, having just taken a bath, found a red-haired beauty with a bottle of wine on his windowsill.

The iconic red bikini armor with golden edges and the raised dragon horns on her head revealed her identity — the Red Dragon Queen, Alexstrasza.

"I've discovered that human wines can be quite delightful, at least when I wish not to think, it numbs my senses," she murmured as she gazed at the luminous moon.

Duke smiled, "Stop kidding. This bit of alcohol can't numb your senses."

"If I reduce my constitution to one ten-thousandth, it can," the queen replied with a sad expression. She looked like she wanted to cry but couldn't.
