Capítulo 35: Get out!
It was midnight. Lin Xue made way down the steps carefully. Her custom gown made many people gasp when they saw it.
Han Shuoxi stood on the other side and he stared at her with a starry gaze. This was the reason why he ultimately chose Lin Xue over Lin Ye.
Lin Xue was daring. Her gown was backless but it still held some restraint. She was the perfect person to go out with. Lin Ye on the other hand was boring.
She was either in her scrubs or sweatpants or jeans. During the one month that they had dated, Han Shuoxi had never even held her hands yet with Lin Xue, they had already gone all the way several times. Most of the times were initiated by Lin Xue.
Several reporters complemented Lin Xue, "Miss Lin looks beautiful tonight, how do you feel?"
Lin Xue blushed, her face pretty against the flashes of light, "I am engaged to the man of my dreams, of course I am happy!"
Another reporter chimed in, "A lot of women these days fear getting married as they think it is a huge responsibility, Miss Lin sure is different!"
Lin Xue smiled, "When you get the one, you know so why not cuff him before anything else?"
Everyone laughed at her statement. The air was light. Lin Xue made her way to Han Shuoxi's side.
Lin Qian and Ji Lingyu, Lin Ye's parents came over. Lin Qian was in his forties yet he had a crafty look while his wife Ji Lingyu looked like a seductress in her blue evening gown.
Han Shuoxi greeted them, "Father, mother...thank you for giving birth to Lin Xue. Without you, I would not have found a wife in this lifetime."
Lin Xue laughed, "Brother Han!"
Lin Qian on the other hand smiled lightly, "If you don't take care of my daughter I will come and take her away from you!"
Ji Lingyu nudged him, "What is wrong with you? You are going to scare the child away!"
Lin Qian pretended to be indifferent but inside he was gloating. This was more like a marriage of convenience to him. He did not care whether his daughter loved Han Shuoxi or not.
All he cared about was the prime pieces of land the Han family possessed, that was Lin Xue's bride price.
From his peripheral view, he saw his father, Lin Mufan making was down the steps.
He was holding a cane but his steps were still steady.
Lin Qian frowned but then he fixed his face quickly and said to Lin Xue and Han Shuoxi, "Grandfather is here, why don't you go and say hello to him."
Lin Xue and Han Shuoxi left while holding hands. Ji Lingyu looked at Lin Qian, "What is the old man doing here? You promised that he would not be here no matter what!"
Her tone was sinister. Lin Qian also frowned, "I did not think that he would come down,"
Ji Lingyu masked her displeasure when the guests came to greet her but her gaze was hateful beyond extremes.
...
Outside, there seemed to be a problem.
Chen Xi was looking for a place to park his car while Lin Ye ducked her head down.
Chen Xi was speechless, "What are you doing?"
Lin Ye somehow pushed herself downwards, "Nothing, I just saw an old friend. Chen Xi, make sure you hide me well!"
Chen Xi looked around. There was not a single person outside but there were many cars, who was Lin Ye trying to hide from?
Chen Xi did not understand, "Who are you trying to hide from?"
Lin Ye bit her tongue. The painful sensation caused her to yell. Chen Xi immediately felt alarmed, "What is wrong?"
He was worried, "What is wrong wifey?"
Lin Ye froze. She was not used to seeing such expressions on other people's faces, no one had ever been worried about such a small matter regarding her before.
She coughed and then looked away, "Nothing, just hit my head."
Chen Xi held her head in place and massaged the back of it gently, "Be careful next time."
His voice was gentle, his face was close. Lin Ye could feel the heat radiating from him breathing in and out, she immediately looked away!
His face was dangerous!
She wanted to hide even more but someone tapped on her window.
She looked at Chen Xi in horror!
The window was then banged louder this time followed by a voice,
"Lin Ye get out! I already know that it is you..."
