In the waiting room for family members, outside the operating theatre, rows of people sat or stood anxiously. In the corner, Celeste holding a thermos lunch box was worried about her younger brother. She received a phone call from their mom, informing her of the circumstances of the teenager her brother loved.
'It was a huge shock for me; how about my brother? How would he feel?'
If anything happens to the boy, the guilt will crush his brother like a gigantic mountain.
Celeste prayed from the bottom of her heart that nothing would go wrong.
If it wasn't bad enough that her brother blamed himself for this incident, a girl seated across from him was more worrisome. She was withered, constantly crying and apologising. Celeste took pity on the girl. The cruelty of shouldering the responsibility of putting someone in harm's way unknowingly was too great for this young girl.
Sitting on a chair, Celeste opened the lunch boxes without any words.
