Capítulo 2: Another World
{ 3 years Later }
It has been 3 years since I came into this world, at first I thought I had been born in some village in another country because the house was made of wood & my parents looked like foreigners.
I realised I was born in another world when I saw my mother use Water Art to wash my....uhh... I mean to clean me & bath me. It was an amazing sight to watch, she slightly raised her hand & slowly a ball of water formed above her palm then she asked Dad to heat it a bit & dad used his Fire Art to make the water warm, aah it was a good bath.
My dad Reine & mom Grace have named me Leo & my family name is Greystone, so now I am Leo Greystone. Previously my name was Akiro, I was an orphan who was raised in an orphanage, I wasn't adopted & after becoming an adult I started living alone, I had taken a liking to animals &so I worked in the City's Zoo as an Animal Care Taker, the animals were all friendly with me & I loved it there.
Though I didn't communicate much with my colleagues, I communicated a lot with the animals. I really wished for them to talk back to me, they did make sounds that felt as if they understood me but that was it. I would normally take a short trip to the nearby forest on my week offs to relax in nature & well one such day was my last in that world.
I was relaxing under a tree when I heard the leaves of a nearby bush rustling, I took a peek to see which animal was there & I saw those people whom I disliked the most, the Hunters. I saw them trying to aim at a deer & my! what an amazing deer it was, I had never seen a deer like it, It's fur was white & it had big majestic black antlers, I am sure it was a very rare one, I tried to make the deer run by throwing stones at it but it wasn't running, the hunters noticed the stones been thrown & were alerted.
I thought they would stop & run away but instead they started aiming at its neck I could see a red dot on its neck, I could not let that rare deer die like that so I tried to rush in & tell them to stop but just as I came in front of the deer...
The guy holding the gun got startled & accidentally fired his gun, the bullet hit my stomach, those bastards didn't even try to help me, instead they ran away leaving me to die.While I do dislike how I died in that world, I am extremely happy to be born in this one. Right now I am on an island, it's an unnamed island & surprisingly my family is the only one staying here.
I wondered a lot why we were alone on a remote island but when I asked Dad as to why we were the only ones here , he said that he would tell me when I grow up. Anyways it is what it is, I don't really care about interacting with other people, I have my Mom & Dad & the animals in our farm, those are enough for me.
In these three years I learned a lot about this world, I was already able to understand what my parents were saying despite it being a language i had not heard before. But I wasn't able to read, so I had to learn reading. Mom's daily bed time stories helped me to learn reading quiet a lot and when I was able to start crawling I would keep sneaking in our study room to read different books. I have read various books in this time span & learned a lot about this world.
This world is divided into 6 continents, of which one is a monster filled continent with lots of strong & unknown monsters, the other 5 continents are each ruled by a King.
There are five races in this world, Humans, Elves, Demons, Dwarfs & Beastmen. These are just like the ones I had seen in games & mangas. Normally in them demons were considered as evil but not in this world, they are just considered as another race.
Though discrimination between races is there, no particular race is considered evil. I guess it is because they have a common enemy which are the monsters who attack & kill people irrespective of their race.
Each continent is home to each different race & is ruled by a King of that race. There is peace between each continent, well it would be better to say each Kingdom. Interaction due to trade & services is possible between people of each race.
In each continent there are varies dungeons & places where monsters & beasts dwell & to keep those in check, there are adventures who subjugate the monsters & claim rewards. Different other types of people are there as well like inn keepers, merchants, guards, shopkeepers, nobles, knights, etc. But I haven't met any of them, till now it has been only me, my parents & my grandpa Loak who occasionally come to visit us & gives us books & other supplies, all of us are Humans.
As far as where we live, it's an island near the Human Kingdom called Mennes. The Elf kingdom Eldora is to the East of Mennes, the Dwarf kingdom Dwerg to the Notheast, the Beastmen kingdom Ferra to the North & the Demon kingdom Dimone to the northwest. Further west of Mennes is the biggest continent named as Nestruva, the home of monsters.
Today my grandpa Loak came again & brought some more books & supplies for us, despite his weak body & now white hairs he looks quite decent & is healthy enough since he comes here alone carrying all supplies from the Kingdom. Among the books that he brought is the one I had been wanting to get my hands on "The Basics of Mana & Elemental Arts".
