Capítulo 52: Potions
"Where are we going now?" Arthur asked to which Egris had a rather sinister smirk on this face.
"Why are you making that face?" Arthur asked in a rather concerned tone to which Egris simply continued to walk.

"This is your potion creation class. This was honestly one of my favourite classes when I attended this school. I hope that you can share that same interest that I shared for this class," said Egris as he pushed Arthur into the classroom that resembled the rooms that Rosie and Steven had.
"Hello there," said an old lady that seemed to be in her 70s as she greeted Arthur.
"Well, this is great, some old hag is going to lecture me and say 2 words every minute. This is going to be so much fun," Arthur said to himself in a rather sarcastic tone.
"Okay then Arthur, my name is Betty. This class is going to be moving on rather quickly so I hope that you'll be able to keep up," said Betty which confused Arthur as the woman was speaking rather quickly which was the exact opposite of what he expected.
"In this class I'll be teaching you how to create potions. For starters, potions are liquids that are contained in small jars a lot of the time and they contain special properties which help a person in battle," said Betty.
"There was two types of potions. A splash type potion and a consumption type. The splash ones are ones that you can break open on any surface and anyone who come into contact with them gains the ability that they offer. As for consumption potions, they are ones that you drink and attain their powers. Both have their own uses but I personally prefer splash potions since they're able to help your allies and they take less effort to make use of," Betty explained.
"You see, potions aren't constructed from spells. Instead, you make you of a special category of plants called magic plants as would make sense. They hold the ability to give which ever person that is affected by them special powers to use that will help them when they're in need. Such abilities include super strength, super speed, regeneration, and even status healing from poison, paralysis, or even severe burns," Betty continued to speak which was hard for Arthur to understand all the new information all at once. However as time passed, Arthur was starting to adapt to the teaching style that Ms. Betty made use of an as such began to understand what she was saying.
"Excuse me ma'am, I just have a question. For the potions that you consume or this could actually apply to splash potions as well. Is there a way for a person to use two potions at once?" Arthur asked which brought a smile on Betty's face.
"Yes, in fact there is. You see, the human body is quite compatible with potions. This is due to natural selection over many years where our ancestors competed with each other. As such, those who were able to increase their abilities using those plants which we now turn into potions for our convenience survived while those that couldn't do that died off. As such, those that had the genetic properties to be accustomed to the magic plants managed to pass on their genetic properties to their offsprings," said Betty which was starting to make sense to Arthur.
"Since you've actually managed to keep your attention on what I've been saying this entire time, l reward you by allowing you to watch a real life demonstration of what happens when potions take into effect.
"You see, in my pockets, I have 3 potions. The one with the light blue liquid increases the organism's speed, the one with red liquid increases strength and the one with brown liquid increases the organism's intelligence. Now watch closely," said Betty as she went over to a small cage that she had which contained two hamsters.
She placed drops of the brown liquid into both of the hamsters' food which increased their intelligence. Next, she gave one of them the light blue liquid in their food and gave the other one the red liquid which increased its strength.
"Now, who do you think is going to win in a fight?" Betty asked as the two hamsters began to walk towards each other on their two feet.
"Well, obviously the hamster with the red potion since it's stronger. Even if the other hamster has speed, it can only run for so long," said Arthur to which Betty simply smiled.
"Just watch closely," said Betty and right as she said those words, the hamster that was faster began to run around the walls of the cage to which the stronger hamster could only try to chase with no avail. However right as the faster hamster got too close, the stronger hamster tried to land a devastating punch at it which the faster hamster barely managed to dodge it however the fist of the stronger hamster made contact with the floor of the cage and caused it to shake with devastating force. However seeing its opportunity, the faster hamster began to run faster and faster until it used all its momentum to land a punch of its own which was strong enough to knock out the stronger hamster.
"But how is that possible? The hamster that drank the red potion was stronger so how was it knocked out so quickly?" Arthur asked to which Betty replied as gently as possible so that she could use the opportunity to teach Arthur.
"You see, I gave the hamsters both an intelligence potion so that they knew how to make full use of their abilities. The stronger hamster waited for the perfect opportunity to attack however it missed. The faster hamster though took its opportunity to build up momentum and land its punch since it had gotten so fast. You see, even if their strengths differ, they both have the same durability. As such, all that mattered was who could land the first punch, not who was stronger," Betty explained with a smile.
