Capítulo 5: Two Steps Ahead
"Well, that was interesting. I guess I'm free to live as I wish now. Although I don't understand why the inspector would come all the way here himself. He could have just asked the principal to investigate and get the information for him. It's not like I would have resisted," said Arthur with the sigh before going inside the bathroom.
"I might as well take a bath since I don't have anything else to do," Arthur thought to himself as he walked inside his bathroom. All seemed well until he turned towards his sink which had something on it. Something that resembled a brick and was sitting there with a piece of paper attached to it.
"What's this? I don't remember leaving this here," Arthur said as he walked up to the small brick and paper. Arthur lifted the paper gently and began to read what was on it.
"Greetings Arthur, I leave you this note because I know what you're up to. You seem like a smart boy so you must know that I, the inspector is the one who placed this for you to read. You might be asking why I would do such a thing since you're so innocent and have done nothing wrong. Well, you might be able to fool everyone but I have quite the sharp eye. You see, there are still small magic spell particles in your room. The naked eye could never hope of seeing them however mine can. It's a magic spell of my own. One that had never been recorded. Anyway, I should make this quick so that you understand what type of situation you're in. First off, I know that you have an entire libraries worth of magical books or notes that you're hiding. They were not in your room but their particles were so that just means you're hiding them somewhere. At the rate you open the door, it's impossible to store them away inside some hidden compartment. Moreover, I could sense the aura of a very special spell. That would be the tier 9 spell known as 'Personal Dimension'. As for the spell you used inside the the competition yesterday, it was the tier 10 spell, 'Time Puppet Master'. Now I've already formulated quite a lot of conclusions as to how you managed to get your hands on these spells as well as how you were able to make use of them however that doesn't matter for now. All you have to do is listen to my instructions."
As Arthur read the paper, his heart sank as all his secrets were being explained to him by a person he only saw for a couple minutes. Even the principal who tormented Arthur never knew a single detail about how powerful Arthur was. Yet, this stranger somehow managed to unravel all those secrets in the matter of seconds. Even so, Arthur continued to read the paper.
"Look, for the next 7 days, I want you to attend classes. Try to make sure everyone knows that you're starting to be a part of the school again. Let them torment you all they want. On the 7th day, I'll send in someone or something to attack the school. When that happens, I need you to step up to fight the thing I send. Seeing you there, everyone will put you up as sacrifice so that they can escape. When that happens, I'll step in and take you away from the school. I know that you must be concerned about where I'm taking you but just trust me. If you don't, I'll just kill you so you don't really have much of a choice. As for the phone I gave you. Take it with you on the 3rd day that you're in school. It's the perfect time for me to call you. When I do so, quickly pick up the phone. This isn't so we can have a conversation, instead it's to make you seem like a robber. When people see the kid who doesn't have a single cent and who they assume to be weak to the point that he cannot even form very basic spells with a phone, they'll quickly assume that you stole it and more attention will be placed on you. Although some will not doubt you because of your performance in the magic competition, most of the students will have their judgement clouded by their hatred for you. This is all to make sure everyone believes that you died on the seventh day. Everyone needs to know your presence so that they all know when you're dead. I hope you can follow through with all these instructions."
After finally finishing the letter, Arthur simply placed the paper back on the sink and began laughing from happiness. He didn't care if he was going to be killed by the inspector. All he cared about was that he would be able to have something to do. There was something exciting in his life for once. He wouldn't have to be bored all day and stare at books for countless hours. As such, Arthur took his bath and prepared to go to school the following day.
"I didn't think he would be able to find out so much about me in such a short amount of time and even have time to write that letter and place it inside the washroom even though he didn't go inside it at all. Well, at least I'm glad he doesn't know how I was able to get all those spells. Further more, I haven't actually used most of the spells I know so I doubt he knows that I have access to far more than just a few magical spells. Either way, I should be prepared for anything. If he actually does intend to kill me, I always have my trump card. Once I play it, I doubt he'll be able to catch me, let alone kill me," Arthur said to himself as he thought of a single spell he kept hidden away for the day he would need it to save his life.
The next day, Arthur created a backpack from a spell he had learned quite a long time ago by simply placing his palm forward to which a magic circle appeared and created a back pack out of nothingness. Although it was empty, that was all Arthur had so he took it and left his home in the same outfit he wore to the genius magic competition.
