Wolfe led the group into the meeting room and took a seat on a couch along one wall, with King Petros beside him. This was what the King had come here for, and the fact that nobody in this group recognized him was not lost on him. 

Wolfe had picked people that would speak freely in front of their King, thinking that he was just some powerful friend of the local Saint.

If he had introduced himself and then asked, they would have lied and told him how wonderful it was to have this honour, and some nonsense about how they were looking forward to going home to show off their skills. 

That didn't help him at all, and Petros was hoping that they could get through all these talks without anyone realizing that he was the new King of the Fallen Empire, or the Risen King, as he had chosen to title his reign.

The first up was the lone human, who looked longingly at his book, and clearly didn't want to spend much time here if he could avoid it.
