Capítulo 113: Chapter 113: Wedding Jitters

The Kentley's mansion boomed with activity as June arrived the mansion in company of  Gracia, the mother and her two of her guards. "Do not scratch my box Sherman. I haven't taken any pictures with those. Do not scratch them please." June warned as Sherman took the boxes they arrived with inside. Gracia helped her mother down from the car and they followed June closely behind as they made their way into the mansion. "Is anybody home?" June shouted once inside the house. "Sherman show our guests to their rooms please." She instructed Sherman who immediately led Gracia and the mother to their various rooms. "Sister, Paige, Emily, who is home." She called again heading to the sitting room. There she met Anna who was already headed to her direction.

"There you are." June said smiling happily.

"June, what are you doing here?" Anna asked surprise to see her sister. "And who did you come back with? What about your bridal shower. I thought you planed on having one with your friends today. What's wrong?" Anna asked stepping closer to her sister with concern written all over her face.

"All the questions are for me right?" June asked slumping into the welcoming arms of one of the sitting room chairs. "If yes, then you'd have to give me enough time to answer." She continued, removing her shoes. "Have you seen my new pair of shoes sis." She asked showing them off. "I spent a couple of dollars on these bitches yo!" She exclaimed happily.

"June!" Anna called her sister sternly.

"What? Can't I visit home again? I'm not married yet and you are asking what I'm doing home." June complained. "Is my shoe fine or not please." She asked showing off her pair of shoes one more time.

Getting fed up, Anna sank into a chair beside hers. "Your shoes are lovely baby. I might have to wire some cash to you for mine, I love them." She replied playing along.

"Hmmm, that won't be possible, at least not this year. The queue for the shoe is actually much. They only produce on order and they have a specific number to produce each year. I just thought of something," June chuckled. "Do you know that I could be the only owner of this shoe in the whole of Yardstin?" She said laughing. "How shocking is that?"

"June please, if there is something wrong, just tell me. You are keeping me in suspense and I do not like it. It's barely eight in the morning and you are here with...." Anna paused as she remembered that June came with someone. "With who, who did you come home with Baby." She asked again.

"Gracia." June replied making a face. While Anna shut her a serious look. "Okay, calm down. I know what you're thinking and what you're going to say. But she wanted to come.  I just asked and she was more than happy to come." She said with raised hands.

"Simon is not going to be happy with this." Anna told her. "You know the rules, the mansion is strictly for family. Outsiders remain outside June. What were you thinking?" Anna asked in a hushed tone.

"I thought she was your friend and not an outsider. I felt you will be happy to see her here. I never knew you wouldn't. Besides that, I thought she was a very good friend of yours."

"No, no no no, do not shift the blame on me you sneaky girl. She is my friend, but I always set a healthy boundary with my friends and this helps ensure that none of them over steps the boundary. And you know so well that we ain't that close. Her incident or encounter with Frankie was the only thing that brought us a bit closer. So please, do not shift it to me." Anna stressed.

"Fine." Said June opening a pack of gum she took out from her handbag. "The blame is on me. Now, can we rest? Cause I'm getting tired and worked up. I came home to rest." June lamented. "And I canceled the bridal shower with my friends. I'll just have one here with everybody. It'll be more fun actually." She said.

Anna looked at June with keen eyes. She had planned on going out to have her skin prepped for tomorrow alongside Paige. But June being home meant a total change in plan. Their stylist and designers would have to come to the house instead as she wouldn't want to leave June home all alone. Moreso she had a feeling that something was not okay. "Is something wrong, June?" Anna asked just once more. "Something you don't want to talk about just yet?"

June shrugged her shoulders and made a tired face. "I don't know Anna, I feel so...." She paused trying to think of the right word to use.

"Scared?" Anna added.

"Yes, I think I'm scared. Maybe I'm having cold feet." June added. "Do you think I'm rushing into the marriage?" She asked Anna.

"Honestly, No, I don't." Anna replied almost immediately. "You've known Alfred for so many years. He's been your sweetheart since I can remember. Both of you love, respect and care about each other so much that it makes me jealous some times." She said smiling at her sister who smiled right back. "I've anticipated a lot of things in life and your wedding to Alfred tops the chart. Does he treat you bad?" She asked touching June on the arm and drawing even closer to her.

"No, he doesn't." June replied.

"Does he abuse you in any way including verbally?" She asked again.

"He doesn't sis. Alfred is cool. I'm not worried about him. I'm worried about me." June said. "I've tried imagining myself with just one man for the rest of my life and I find it crazy. I'm going to stay in the same space with him for more than a month! A month, that is actually the longest I've ever stayed in the same space with him." She confessed. "I don't know if I have all that wifely qualities like calmness, the extra patience and tolerance. We've attended a couple of couple's counselling and I think we have all the guidance we need, but I'm just having this awkward feeling." She said now leaning on her sister's shoulder.

"Don't you want to get married to Alfred." Anna asked casting a sideways glance at her sister who was leaning on her shoulder.

"I want to, I love Alfred. he makes me very happy." June replied.

"Now, that is the answer you are looking for." Anna told her with a smile.

"Yes.." June replied slowly as she sat up lifting her head off Anna's shoulder. "I love him, he loves me too and we'd both do anything for each other. So yeah, that is what I need right Anna?"

"Right baby, Happiness first." Anna replied with a smile. Just then, Bridget walked into the sitting room with a cup of coffee.

"Good morning Aunt." June and Anna chorused.

"Hmm, good morning lawyers." Bridget replied and turned back to her room seeing that the sitting room was occupied.

Once out of sight, June turned to Anna. "You never told me we have Bridget Tacha with us L.a.w.y.e.r." she stressed shaking her head to the side as she mimicked Bridget. This caused a roar of laughter amongst the two sisters.

"She should be the least of your problems now. You need to speak to Simon about Gracia's presence in the house before he comes downstairs. You know metamorphically, he'd tear the whole place down seeing an outsider in the house. So, you'd better go tell him now than later." Anna suggested.

"And how am I doing to do that?" June asked looking confused.

"I don't know, by telling him maybe. How else do you want to do it."

"Where is Emily and Paige?" She asked recalling that she have seen neither of them since she arrived the Mansion.

"Both are inside their respective rooms. Emily doesn't want to see nor meet Bridget while Paige, I don't know. Maybe she overslept or something." Anna replied. "You can stop by and see Paige in her room when you are done with Simon." She added as her sister stood up.

"I'll be right back." June left for Simon's room. Slowly she climbed the stairs leading upstairs humming one of her favorite songs. In her mind, she attempted using a scale of one to ten to estimate how angry Simon was going to be but she ended up with the feeling that ten might be too small a number to estimate his anger rate. Within her, she started exploring start up lines she could use to start up the conversation. In the midst of her thoughts, she arrived Simon's room. Not giving a care about knocking, she gently pushed the door wide enough to accommodate her before stepping in. "Hello, brother." She called as she stepped in on Simon and Paige.

Paige had her head placed on Simon's back while her two hands went round his chest. "I'm sorry!" June exclaimed startled as she stepped back  trying to close the door.

"June, come in please." Simon called after her smiling alongside Paige.
