Capítulo 88: Chapter 88: Protocol at Kentley's Mansion

"I know right? The mansion is really beautiful. One of the most beautiful houses I've ever been in." Paige said.

They drove to the first entrance of the Kentley's mansion which had the entrance gate adorned with wild tulips and Bougainvillea. Felix honked the car horn and they waited patiently for the guards at the gate who stood beside the gate in opposite direction facing each other. This two ignored them though they heard the car horn as it was loud enough. Surprised, Felix honked the car horn again and this time around twice. One of the guards whom Paige recognized immediately she saw him stepped out of the security post and started heading towards them.

But instead of opening the gate for them to pass through, he opened the small gate and came outside to meet them in the car. As he walked up to them, Felix rolled down the car window. "Good evening Miss Paige." The guard greeted standing close to the passenger seat Paige was seated in.

"Good evening Wexton." Paige replied. "Why are you standing? Kindly open the gate." She requested.

"I'm afraid, this is as far as the car can go ma'am." Wexton replied. "The Boss instructed that the gate should not be opened to an outsider." He said casting a subtle glare at Felix who smiled softly in a bid to appear polite.

"What? That is crazy." Paige said to Wexton who was already typing something with his phone. "Wexton!" She called angrily trying to gain his attention. "How the hell does he expect me to walk the long distance to the house. You all must be joking." She said.

"That is not a problem Miss Paige." Wexton started. "The chauffeur will be here any minute to take you into the mansion." He replied calmly as he kept back his cellphone in his suit pocket after forwarding a text to Nicon.

"What the hell." She whispered. "Did you hear him" she said turning to Felix. What in god's name is the meaning of this?" She asked no one in particular.

"He is here ma'am." Wexton told her pointing at  Nicon who was already parked at the other side of the gate. Nicon also started heading towards them.

"This is crazy." Paige said upset. This is....."

"It's okay Paige, it's fine." Felix interrupted her. "I'll help you get your bags." He offered stepping out of the car while Nicon who was now present opened Paige's door to help her out.

"I can do that myself." She grumbled pushing Nicon's hand away. Wexton quickly picked up Paige's bag from Felix and took them to the car parked at the other side of the gate. "Thank you so much Felix." She said turning to Felix who was now standing beside the driver's seat of his car. Felix nodded with a broad smile. Not a bit bothered about the ongoing protocols. "And don't forget your promise, do something about your friend please." She reminded him.

"Definitely." Felix replied. "Could you also keep the discussion between us while I work on an intervention. I wouldn't want my brother to hear of it. He might ruin everything and my friend might end up escaping." Felix said trying to dissuade her from telling Frankie about their previous discussion.

"Of course, I will not mention a word of it to him. Safe journey home." She told him and turned to leave with Nicon who was still standing beside her waiting to walk her to the car.

"Bye." He responded waving at her. He stood right there and watched her to get into the car. He also waited for them to drive off.

"You can go now Mr. Tedson." Wexton said with a not so friendly facial expression. Enough to tell Felix that he was not welcome to spend even a second there. He quickly stepped into the car and drove off. He wondered if the cold glare was just for him, maybe his brother was included as well. Maybe the cold glare was for the whole Tedson family. He thought to himself. It was obvious Simon told his guards something and whatever it was, he only hopped it was meant for his brother alone and not for the whole family because it will definitely mean bad business for the Tedsons if Simon Kentley decide to sideline them. Not only will they loose the present offer he placed on their table, they will also loose Business partners. Powerful Business partners, most of who they got to know through Simon Kentley. Their father will definitely kill to have Simon on their side business wise and this only made Felix fear for his family as it seems his father and his favorite son might end up having a very serious clash soon.

He thought of Frankie and how he will go about getting help for him. He thought of involving their father but he was convinced their father wouldn't believe him. He might be blinded by the false perfect son camouflage Frankie puts out there on a daily. Maybe he'd reach out to a doctor at a rehab first. He thought to himself. In the midst of the brain wracking thought, a not so evil and very perfect thought came to his mind. He thought of opening up to Simon Kentley. If he is really in love with Paige, then he was the best man to talk to. Simon is smart enough to come up with a perfect solution to settle the mess Frankie was about to make.

Back at the car, Paige kept fuming as they drove the short distance to the main gate of the Kentleys mansion. The tiny road that was laced with bougainvillea on both sides to create a faux fence and a driveway wide enough to accommodate two cars going on different directions with little space in-between glowed with tiny drops of sunlight from the creeping flower making a cool design on Paige's laps. "What's with the whole security protocol Nicon?" Paige asked in dire need of an answer.

"I really can't say Miss Paige." Nicon started with his usual line of reply. I was......."

"Please Nicon," Paige cut him short impatiently. She was really not in the mood for his little speech which will always end up with he has no idea. There was no need disturbing herself anyway. She was going to the house, so Simon will definitely give her the answer she needed. She thought as they drove into the main entrance to the mansion. She remembered the day she came to Creek Island. That was literally her first time leaving the shores of Elfer-town her whole life. She recalled the stress she went through as she drove Charlotte down to this place. Oh, how she missed Charlotte. It was a journey she will not forget in a hurry.

"We are here ma'am." Nicon announced as he stepped down to get her door.

"I know," she replied "I'm not blind. And please, I can get my door myself. Next time, do not bother." She told him with full attitude. Nicon bowed and stepped aside to allow her come down from the car. She looked at him and noticed his downcast facial appearance. "Look Nicon, I am sorry. The truth is I am so pissed with what just happened at the gate and I know it's not your fault. So, I am very sorry for speaking to you in such manner." She apologized.

"You don't have to apologize Miss Paige." He told her. "I'm not mad ma'am and you have every right to be angry." Nicon replied hoping that his reply will make her feel better. He just didn't like the fact that she was angry and he hoped she'd calm down sooner.

"Thank you." She mouthed before leaving for her room. As usual, Samira already took her bag into the house while Sherman stood at the porch waiting for her.

"Welcome Miss Paige." He greeted as she approached the porch.

"Sherman," she called with a hearty smile. "Is it just me or do you really look bigger?" She asked with hearty smile.

"Thank you so much Miss Paige." He replied happily. "Welcome home." He said as her followed her closely behind into the house.

"My Boss, informed us that you will be coming back today, in fact, he said you will be back in the morning and he prepared an omelette for you. We waited for you all morning but we didn't see you." He continued still following her behind. "The food is cold now. So I was wondering if you'd want us to pour it away and make a fresh one for you while you freshen up.

"What?" Paige turned immediately she heard him talk about discarding the Omelette Simon prepared. A food she's been craving for since morning. "Please do not pour it away." She said. "Kindly heat it up, l will eat it once I come downstairs." She instructed.

"Right away ma." Sherman replied and started matching towards the kitchen to dish out instructions.

"Where is Simon." She asked causing him to halt in his steps.

"He left in the morning." Sherman replied turning to face her.
