She felt the need to touch his face.
She raised her hand to touch his cheek.
"We've arrived".
We've arrived" the driver said, bringing the car to an halt
He still isn't opening his eyes
"Boss, boss" she called but no response
She then touched his shoulder
That woke him up
He looked at her face and she blinked severally at the closeness
He sighed before taking his head away from her shoulder...
He got out of the car and she did the same
He led the way into the store
She followed behind, holding her chest
"Why is it making strange irregular sounds?" She thought
Richard pointed at what he wanted and she picked, releasing it in the shopping basket
It's almost full now but it seems he's not stopping anytime soon
Another basket was brought and the shopping continued.
Then suddenly Richard spotted a shopping basket rolling down that lane, it must have mistakenly slip off the hands of someone.
It rolled to where Ruby was standing and she appears to be unaware of what was happening
He hurried to where she was standing and dragged her hand out of the way, he hit her back carelessly on a stand and all the things on the stand began to fall. He sheltered her, allowing it all drop on his head.
It stopped after a while and she looked up at him
She has surprise of the highest order on her face
"Are you ok?" He asked
"Boss" she said, looking at him keenly, questioning why he took it all for her
He let go of her and straightaway, some dudes who just arrived the mall ogled at her unceasingly.
"Just look at her chest" one of them said
"She has the curves, she has the breast, how alluring" another one whispered..
Richard observed her and noticed what they were talking about. The buttons on her top were detached thereby making her bra noticeable and a great portion of her breast was going up.
"Fuck" he mumbled inaudibly.
He left to where she stood and enclosed her with an embrace, her subtle boobs making connection with his upper body. Ruby's eyes broadened in amazement
"Your buttons have removed so I presume you know what I'm referring to. Those guys were gazing at your...
Ruby understood what he meant straightaway.
“Don’t talk about it just shield me I plead of you" she replied, tightening the embrace.
The boys left when they saw what Richard did...
"Are they still there?" She inquired
"Yes" he lied, wanting to remain in that position
“Those philanders" She murmured in his arm
He choose to end it by releasing her from his grip but he still stood in front of her
"They're away" he told her as his eyes journeyed down her chest but she speedily dragged the both ends of the shirt together and protected herself.
It was his driver who took the things he bought to the car.
They left the store and the drive home started.
She ensured there was an ample distance between them in the vehicle.
She unexpectedly began to feel nervous to look him in the face
"Am I continually awkward?" She asked herself, she kept holding her shirt still. He kept grinning noiselessly each time he recalls in detail that he actually hugged her.
Janet couldn’t control her amusement when Ruby reported all that transpired at the mall.
"It's not humorous Janet but I'm happy he protected me however I have no idea why he did
“It’s apparent" Janet said, becoming serious.
"Tell me" she replied, going closer to her
"No, you'll discover it automatically in a little while, when he won't be able to conceal his emotions and the feeling conquers him"
“Concealing what?"
“Come on Ruby, relax"
"Sure"
“And by the way, I've conveyed all your properties to my apartment down the stairs" Janet said
"But I instructed you not to because I don’t want to trouble you. I'll continue managing until I get my pay"
" No, I've offered you the proposal to move to my room countless times but you continually reject it, I got the chance to move your things myself so you have no other option come to think of it, how can I be sleeping on a comfortable bed while my friend sleeps on a mat, it's not done" she said.
“Janet"
“Yes Ruby"
“I love you"
"I love you more, give me a hug"
They embraced firmly.
“Was the grip close-fitting like this?" Janet suddenly asked
"What grip?"
“The one Mr. Richard offered you"
"Scoundrel" Ruby said and unlocked from the embrace as she pursued her playfully.
The next day, Janet left for work without Ruby told her she was going to see Kelvin. When Ruby arrived at Kelvins, and saw him about to go out
"Sweetie" he called walking near but she went backward
"Kelvin quit trying to sweet talk me. Recently, you've really transformed into someone different not the Kelvin I use to know. You don't even care about me anymore and you don't call me and when I call, you don't pick my calls" she said with an upsetting tone
"But, I already told you that my job is hectic" “What about me Kelvin, you're aware of how stressful it would be in an empire, but I still create time to call but you can't even create time to pick my calls" she said.
"I'm sorry" he said and his phone rang immediately.
He picked and faced her after hanging up.
"I have to go now Ruby, take care of yourself, and love you" he said and gave her a small peck on the cheek before exiting.
"Why do I feel like I'm the only one in the relationship" she thought sadly.
Her eyes broadened when she saw the time.
"My God!"
She started running to the bus station. She took the bus to work and ran to climb the lift. When she got to her desk, she gasped hard before settling down.
"You're late" Richard's voice said behind her, he's just coming out of his office, so he's here!
She rose hurriedly.
"Boss I was...I'm sorry" she said, finding it hard to lie
He kept staring at her as she bit her lower lip again
His gullet felt dehydrated as he watched her and when she finally brought it out, it was all misty
"Damn" he said in his mind
"Quit doing that"
“What?"
"Never mind" he replied
"I'll make up for my unpunctuality" she said
"With a punishment, and it's that you must not sit all through today, stand up and work"
It's modest"
"Yes sir" she replied
He went back into his office and smiled widely, taking his seat
He took the ring and checked it out for the umpteenth time since it was bought
He slid it into his finger and continued complimenting it.
Strangely he wasn’t missing Val like he used to do again.
Albert’s office
"Have your sit" Albert said to Mr. Simon the CEO of Gems Empire who came for an appointment this morning.
He took his seat in front of Albert and Janet brought coffee.
"I'm not here for coffee" he said seriously.
Albert took the coffee and left
"Then why?" Albert asked
"I came to sound a notice" he replied
"Mr. Simon, what do you imply?" Albert said.
“I’m just here to tell your Empire to step down regarding the Giants contract" he said.
Albert laughed “Never knew you're a pea brained bastard, so you don't have anything valuable to do with your morning" Albert said with a grin.
"I'm not joking, this organization must back out" Simon said.
“And what if we don't?" Albert said
"I can do anything to you and your brother I swear" he replied
Albert brought his face closer to Simon.
"You can confront me but if a cut should graze my brother’s body, then consider yourself dead" Albert said.
“Fraternal admiration right?" Simon chuckled.
"Call it whatsoever but don't lay your hands on my brother if you value your life, it's a beneficial caution" Albert responded and Simon stood up.
“Peak Empire never fights for contracts, can’t you see? it originates freely, We handle only enormous contracts and this one that's cost tons of bucks can certainly not escape us? No, if you're capable then face us" .
Simon gave one daring look before heading out.
"Mr. Simon" Albert called and he turned back "Under no circumstances should you touch my brother just Face me directly” .
Lighting a cigarette, Mr. Simon left in anger.
"Such an Idiot" Albert mumbled wheezing on his cigarette and recalling the burning session with Val last night.
The girl never gets exhausted.
An hour later .
"Oh my legs" Ruby complained as she finished work on the laptop
She has been standing like he requested and her legs hurts.
"He's just too difficult to decipher, sometimes kind, sometimes harsh...gosh!" She said, resting on one leg after the other.
She's even feeling drowsy
Perhaps because she couldn’t sleep last night.
A part of her mind was thinking about Kelvin, another part was thinking about Richard's hug
Like it was glued with her memory and she can't seem to be able to forget the hug.
She found herself sitting down.
She placed her head on the table and slept off.
Richard came out of his office and found her that way.
Sleeping beauty.
He has actually been working on a text Albert sent to him about Mr. Simon's threats.
That idiot… He kept staring at her pretty sleeping face and it got to a time, he sat on a chair and continued staring, smiling frequently...
"She's pretty" his mind said..
His eyes were fixed on her stomach as she tucked in her blouse but due to how she slept, it came out exposing her fresh belly and sensual navel. He seriously wanted to prevent himself from watching her, but he found it hard and her lip was very enticing, actually all about her is appealing.
He felt the need to feel her lips so, he started bringing his hand nearer and just few creeps to her lips, the elevator was unlocked, revealing a guy who was good-looking as well and kitted out corporately. He advanced towards them and gave him a curious stare.
"CEO Raymond Crown? My name is Andrew, son to the CEO of Virony Empire and I’m here to see Ruby”. That awakened her and she rose up.
“I’m sorry boss, didn't know when I slept off"
Richard stood facing Andrew.
"Why would you want to see her?"
"I must tell her certain things and five minutes will be sufficient" he said and took Ruby's hand as he started dragging her outside.
"You're Andrew?" Ruby asked.
He watched her and bowed as he continued taking her out.
"Halt" Richard said feeling defensive. Andrew stopped facing him and Richard strode closer to him and stopped right ahead of him. He instantly took Ruby's hand from his grasp.
"Get inside my office, I won't repeat myself"
Ruby hurried inside his office
He faced Andrew once more
"She's not a platform where you bargain and carryout. Now, Get out" He said inconsiderately and stealthily, turned his eyes towards Andrew before departing for his office.
Ruby stood immediately Richard came into the office. Their eyes locked and they glared at each other for close to three minutes until Richard sneezed, sinking his hand into his pocket. Ruby bit her lip as she normally does and Richard hurriedly looked away and left for his seat.
"Why didn't you snatch your hand from Andrew when he was pulling you out?"
"Sir, I was gripped unexpectedly so I was actually confused" she replied, dodging his stare.
“Look at me". She lifted her head and looked at him.
“Stay away from him, it's an order"
"Sir?"
"You know I dislike repeating myself but you constantly create an avenue for me to do that. I just ordered you to stay away from Andrew"
"I'm sorry sir I'll stay away from him henceforth.
"Perfect, you can go"
As she exited the office in haste, he exhaled opening and closing his pen cover while reminiscing about Andrew. "How could he just burst in and have the nerve to tell me that he’s here to see Ruby" such effrontery.
He glimpsed at the ring on his finger, since he inserted it in his finger, it never came to his mind to get rid of it, he loves gazing at it and whenever he does, Ruby's face always appears. The expression on her face that day when she returned from the mall looking so exhausted was still new in his head he still feels like he is indebted to her, for treating her like that.
"R-U-B -Y" he called, biting his lip as well in an attempt to impersonate her and his action bore an extensive grin to his face. The door unlocked instantly and Valerie appeared, wearing a skimpy dress that was also very body-hugging with an extreme makeup .
"Darling" she called with a smile, releasing her bag on the table. She moved towards him and sought to kiss him, but he halted her.
"Stop it" he said rudely.
“What offence have I committed this time?" She asked as harmlessly.
Richard stood and faced her.
"Did you just question me, really? Val You never responded to my calls and neither did you call back or make an attempt to drop a message and now, you are anticipating that i open up my arms and wrap you in them the moment you appear? Come on baby I'm not silly Val, what's the problem with us, are we still on?"
Val gulped firm before replying" The thing is I really had an issue while trying to access my phone.
"Can you quit being insincere with me Val I’m not a kid. You've transformed a lot and I can’t even comprehend you any longer!!" he roared.
"Quit screaming at me Richard, You're not my mum neither are you my dad!" She replied furiously. Richard stared at her in amazement for a moment and applauded "Congratulations Valerie you just said all that to me? Please Continue".
“You know what Richard? I'm exhausted" She retorted angrily and with that, she carried her bag and swiftly exited the office, walking past Ruby's table without turning back.
"Why are they quarreling again?" Ruby pondered.
Val messaged Albert and he replied back, instructing her to meet him in one of the restrooms
She unbolted the door to the restroom and found him actually waiting.
A large smile dominated her face as she bolted the door before dumping her bag on the floor.
"Hold on Val are you that infatuated with my dick?"
"Of course i wish I can get a dose of it every moment"
He gripped her and smooched her coarsely as usual before offering her a handkerchief from his pocket
"What do I do with this?'
“Bind your mouth with it, you know you constantly shriek out loud so you may destroy the walls with your screams”
