Capítulo 98: Chapter 95

In all earnesty, the craziest thing about that situation wasn't the fact that it was my mom, or that she loved completely beat and restless, it wasn't even the crazy things she was saying. The main thing that filled me with untold shock and a little discomfort was the fact that she was talking so casually about Austin and I. Like it wasn't anything surprising, as if she hadn't just officially discovered that her only child was indeed gay. It was obvious that nothing about the situation surprised her. And it's not as if she had known, she couldn't have.

Before, I had always been a little curious about what her reaction would be when she discovered my sexuality. I suspected she'd be shocked and would probably make a nasty comment or two, but the reality couldn't be. further from my imagination. She hastily ate, it seemed as if she had been positively starving. And halfway through she drunk up all the juice and extended the glass to us.

" Hit me up with another, will you kid?" She asked Austin, making it seem as if he were a bartender and she was the esteemed customer, everything about her action reminded me of a bar. I suppose she was so accustomed to being there that even her most normal actions were somehow tied to that environment. I went to pour it for her instead but Austin held my arm and told me it was okay. Then he grabbed the juice and walked on over to her, pouring into her glass. I watched the interaction from a couple of steps away, blocking my thoughts because I didn't want to think of the fact that my mom had literally heard Austin and I " doing it " the previous night. It was a wonder she hadn't barged into my room to confirm what was really going on.

Her smiled yes had been on the cookie she was busy eating, but then she looked up and her eyes slightly narrowed as she stared at Austin. She studied him intently, and he must have felt her eyes on him because he returned it with one of his own, and as was expected, he didn't drop his but rather chose to engage in a staring contest with my mother. I was the very conflicted third party who just wanted to get out of there because I had no idea how I was expected to act. What I was supposed to say or do.

" Why do you look so goddamn familiar?" my mom asked, her voice that same lazy and dragged tone that indicated she was still quite tired and sleepy. Austin didn't say anything, he just returned the pitcher to the fridge and walked back to me, standing right next to my form and joining me in staring at my mom oddly. She however went back to her breakfast as if she hadn't just seen a familiar face. I wasn't surprised that she couldn't remember Austin. Sometimes, she hardly remembered who I was. And there was also the fact that they hadn't met that much when we had been young, there had never been any significant interaction between the two of them. And it was amazing that she had ven found him familiar, it had been five years since they had seen each other, and within that time Austin had changed tremendously.

" He looks rich. Tell me kid, are you loaded?"

" Mom!"

She rolled her eyes at me and pretended I wasn't even in the room. I asked Austin to ignore her because that was the only way to deal with that woman. As I have said countless times, I loved her... but God did she drive me mad!

" You're fucking my son, the least you could do is answer my questions. "

" Mom! For God's sake!" my tone this time around was harsh. So was the embarrassment.

" What? I'm just trying to make small talk with your lover. Big deal! "

" Enjoy your breakfast, " I told her, grabbing the pie and handing it to Austin before I took the other glass of juice along with the pitcher he had just put away. I then began leading him away and towards my room.

" Are you seriously gonna leave me here all alone? How rude!" She exclaimed as we left and I advised Austin to just ignore her. But it was a bit difficult to do that, especially when we got to the turn and I heard her say,

" Think I'll snatch him from you. I know you do!"

When we got to my room and I shut the door, I finally took in a deep breath and let it out. I then walked over to the bed, placing the things in the bedside table and lying down because I felt as if my world was spinning. Not long after, Austin joined me, mounting on top of me and laying on my back such that almost every part of him was pressed to me. I pulled the pillow closer and pressed my forehead into it. Then I groaned out a mixture of second hand embarrassment, anger and complete frustration. She wasn't even drunk yet she had me feeling like that.

" Heeey, " Austin calmly called out, massaging my shoulders in an attempt to make me calm down.

" She's crazy, I know, " I said in his behalf because I was certain that was what was running through his head. He let out a short and sweet laugh. The sound so heavenly I found myself thinking of ways to make him produce it again.

" Relax will you, I actually think she's kinda fun. "

Staring at him over my shoulder, I let him know that he was talking like a crazy person. My mom was definitely not fun,she was possibly psychotic but fun was a no! We ate from there, and even after we were done I insisted we stay in there and chat, and because he was such a caring boyfriend, he agreed. We talked about a number of things ranging from serious issues about life and ourselves to funny memories from our past..It was a wonder how many things we had stored in our heads, and talking about them with him made them come alive, convincing me that they were actual events that had occured and not just the mighty work of my imagination.

He left at noon, he had to pass by home before he went over to Miles'so they could discuss something. When I accompanied him out, my mom wasn't anywhere in sight so I assumed she had either left or was fast asleep in her room. I walked him half the way there since he didn't have his bike. My hand in his.

People from our neighborhood saw us. They saw the hand holding and the kiss he randomly gave me because he just suddenly felt like it...some saw the extremely long hug we shared when it was time to part ways.

And I didn't care one bit.

That was the love of my life, had always and would always be..He was the only one capable of providing me with that sort of happiness and that was something I wasn't willing to sacrifice for the sake of anyone. I couldn't find that feeling anywhere else, and so I was going to take advantage of it without worrying about the opinions of those around me. When I went back home, it felt emptier somehow. He had only been there for a night and some added hours but my mind had found a way to get too used to him being there. The loss and difference I felt would have made one think we had been living together for years and he had just suddenly left. Leaving me feel both vacant and abandoned.

It truly was a sort of obsession.

Wanting him to come back the second he had left because it was hard surviving without his presence even for a few hours. I kept myself busy by washing the few dishes we had used, then I cleaned up my room even though it hadn't necessarily needed any cleaning. And because I was bored and didn't really feel like reading, I laid down for a nap. I hadn't had that much sleep the previous night. The nap however went on for longer than I had planned. About four hours before I woke up, still sleepy, then I realized the time and decided to add myself a few extra hours.

When I woke up next, it was because of a phonecall. I had lazily opened my eyes and reached for the phone. Expecting it to be Austin because he hadn't texted me since leaving, but then I saw a foreign number and hesitated before picking up. But in the end I did just that.

" Hello?" I waited for a while.

" Kyle, how's it going?"

Reign's voice asked from the other side. I slowly sat up straight. Suddenly recalling that I had been the one to give him my number. But I had never expected him to actually call.
