Capítulo 13: Chapter 12 - She's Gone!
A tear fell out of Freya's eyes. She had only just had her baby and now she is dying. Who will take care of her Little one now?" Thinking of these another bitter tear fell off her eyes as her body slumped and she fell on the bed.
“Good bye Shanaya.”
My baby I didn't even get to name you, I am sorry.”
The sound of footsteps approaching caught Susan off guard, She could already tell that it was Reynard. She quickly chanted some incantations and disappeared.
Reynard, entered the room and he could immediately tell that something was Amiss. He could smell someone different from Freya. A heavy smell of ladies cologne. And he could also smell death.
With heavy and forced movement he dragged his feet towards Freya's bed. He touched her hand to feel her pulse but it was faint as if it wasn't there at all, her eyes was wide open and was clouded with agony. He noticed her lips move slightly and he leaned forward, he placed his ear close to her mouth and could hear her say a name.
"Sh...Sha...nna...ya"
Her hand dropped and her palm opened and a necklace fell off her hand. Reynard picked up the necklace and closed his eyes tightly. Her Lifeless body pricked his heart, he got up and gently closed her eyes.
He could have saved her but his magic doesn't work on her because she was a vessel that brought him his Mate. Besides, very knew that the smell of death was a clear indication that her soul had already been claimed by Thanatos.
“He was too late!”
Reynard felt melancholy course through his heart at the sight of Freya's lifeless body. His Mate has only just being born, she hasn't even received any warmth from her mother, yet she has Lost her.
“How would he explain to his newborn mate that her mother was gone?”
Reynard closed his eyes tightly at the pain he felt as he covered her face with the sheet. He wished his powers worked on her. Then he would have revived. He couldn't imagine that the woman he had seen some hours ago would become a lifeless body within a short period of time. He could see the finger signs around Freya's neck. He knew she was murdered but who could have done it? He couldn't seem to be able to think of anyone who would want to kill Freya. She was a sweet person. Then realization suddenly hit him. “Except..." if she was killed because of me or my mate.
Reynard was still soliloquizing over the death of Freya's when his chest suddenly tightened, his whole body started to shake violently and his eyes turned darker.
“Mate! He heard his wolf yell.
Reynard disappeared from Freya's room. He reappeared at the Entrance of the VIP Ward. He entered the room. Reynard saw that the nurse got up Surprise, but he ignored her surprised expression and looked at the empty incubator.
“She was not there.”
Where is the baby?" Trying to surpress his anger, Reynard asked in a low voice.
Huh?" The nurse was baffled.
“Where is she?" Reynard could feel his wolf struggling to come out.
The nurse fell on her knees. “Sir... Reynard. “It was you.” You took her earlier.”
“I did what? Reynard eyes was now burning with fury.
“Y.. you took her away earlier, you said you wanted to bring her to her mother. I tried to tell you that it wasn't safe to take her out yet but you didn't listen. So I had to let you go."
“Listening to the nurse's explanation Reynard could feel his anger rise to the highest level. His eyes turned bloody, His claws were starting to show. He was trying to surpress his wolf but for the first time in his life, he wasn't able to.
The nurse was trembling in fear. She was right to be Afraid, because if anyone sees Reynard's face right now they would surely collapse from fright.
“Get Out!!! Reynard yelled and turned away so she wouldn't see his ugly side. He could see the nurse jump out of the room from his peripheral vision.
He turned to look at the empty incubator and he lost complete control of himself. He sent Dennis a message through the Mind Link Before jumping out the window.
“She's Gone!
“His Mate was Gone!
“He has only just met her and now she's Gone!"
