Capítulo 170: Chapter 169 Check Up 2
"Ah...!" "Why did you go to that hospital? Who gets abused in a hospital? Is there no security in there?" Alex asked adding some ointment to my injury.
"I went to see my cousin!" "Don't go there ever again, I don't want you close to that thing!" There was a hint of anger in his voice.
Did Alex hate Maya now, cause she tried to kill herself? Of course I wouldn't be surprised if he was angry with her. She is the sister of the woman he loves. "Let's not forget she's my cousin. I know what she did was so evil!" Killing an innocent child was so vile, that child did nothing to her.
But deep down I was somehow happy she lost the baby, I was uneasy when Berverly said the baby was Lukas's. How was that even possible, how did Maya get close to Lukas when they're not dating?
Oh come on Hazel, they're just saying things, how can i even let myself believe this cunning sisters. "I made an appointment with Phil's tommorow for your check up, no excuses!" Alex kept the ointment back to their places as he picked me up to the closet.
"Alex I didn't hurt my legs this time!" "At least a part of your body hurts!" He placed me before the dressing table as he help undress me. "Do you think Aunt Amelia would still want to be with mum?" I stared at him from the mirror before me.
"She has a family now Hazel!" His figure got lost behind his clothes. Alex was right, Aunt Amelia now has her family to take care of. "Mum cannot be alone, perhaps I can go visit her sometime to keep her company!" I suggested meaningfully.
"Smart aren't you? Don't forget your three months punishment!" He got out with a milk coloured shirt in his hands. "That's just so unfair, I'm not a child Alex to get punishments. I'm your wife!" He chuckled at my words and slowly it turned into a mild laugh. Alex mocked me.
"If you want to be treated like an adult, you have to start acting like one!" "Is that an insult Alex?" "Call it whatever you want, but that's the truth!" He said nonchalantly.
"There's no truth in what you just said!" I rolled my eyes. How can he say I act childishly? Alex helped me with my clothes and he fixed the button himself. My livid face was unchanged and Alex's chuckling was endless.
Like what's so funny about my face? This stupid annoying man, I can just kill him to end his annoying laughter. Ughrrrr I hate this man.
"Your mum was right when she said you look nothing like her, neither did your resemblance come from your father!" "Are you sure you're your mother's daughter?" He asked with a humourous face. He teases me with all seriousness.
"Alex....! What happened to me being beautiful last night?" I was fed up with his constant bullies. "I couldn't see clearly since it was night!" He smiled and perked my lips. "Come on, let's go have lunch you can't keep your dad waiting!"
Hearing the word Dad made my heart skip, he was making me scared and that was bad. Alex held my wrist and took me out of the closet.
We got to the grand floor and ascended to the formal dinning room which held dad. "You're back, you took lots of time so I decided to serve myself!" He smiled at Alex and then turned his gaze to me. "I understand!" Was all Alex said.
We sat on the table and started eating, "I heard about the help you rendered to the Balowe's on the day of your engagement party!" Dad smiled. What help is he talking about?
"That's the least I could do!" "And to think that stupid Maya tried to hurt your sister. You're such a good man and shouldn't help those ungrateful people!" Father took a sip from his glass.
"The help wouldn't have been given if you didn't sabotage their business. Would it dear father in-law?" Said Alex calmly for me to hear a dry laugh coming from Dad's throat. "News spread like wild fire doesn't it? You should be wary of Martin Balowe's daughter!"
"You're a married man now Alex!" "Married man!" Alex laughed. "Don't forget it's not a real marriage, and I can call it a quit anyday anytime!" The food turned sour on my tongue immediately and I could now feel the pain in my throat as I swallowed.
"Hazel you're not eating?" Father turned to me with a smile. "I'm full!" I took a gulp of water before leaving both men on the table. It hurts each time I get reminded everything we were doing was fake. Can't it just turn real already?
Xavier smiled at the couple, he just confirmed what he suspected about their relationship. This heartless man had a soft spot for his Hazel, which was gradually turning into love. He trusted her completely, which was a good thing to carry out their plans.
If only that stupid daughter of his would agree to his plan. But then again she was not even his daughter so how would she inherit his greediness. "Don't call my Wife behind me anymore. Did you think I wouldn't know?" Xavier frowned at his words. Has Hazel been telling him something about their deal? No she didn't, if she did he would not be sitting here.
"Gaius will escort you out when you're done!" Alex stood up to leave. "Why shouldn't I, she's my daug.....!" "Not anymore, don't forget I bought her. She can only be yours when I'm done her!"
"Didn't you tell her all these? I keep hearing one year which I don't understand!" Alex said coldly. "You're in position to tell her that yourself. Don't you think?" Xavier smiled.
"Hmm, I will, but when I want to!" Alex walked away for Xavier to glare at his back with range. He couldn't wait to kill this man.
I laid on the bed softly so as not to hurt my neck more. Right now I didn't know which one hurt the most, my throat or my heart.
The door clicked open and I didn't dare turn to know who it was, as I could perceive his scent that got stronger and stronger. The bed shook a little and then I felt his hand wrap around me, and his head on my shoulder.
"Are you asleep yet?" I said nothing and shut my eyes. "Have you thought of the country yet, the honeymoon offer's still on!"
I still said nothing to his words and his grip on me tightened as his lips pressed my shoulder and stayed that way. I didn't know when I fell asleep.
