25.66% Wretch: Exception To The Rule / Chapter 48: Bad Idea

Capítulo 48: Bad Idea

This guy had certainly sounded thoroughly certain about this, when The Heretic had popped out of nowhere and kicked the old knight's ass, it had certainly looked like the silver knight was fodder to him.

As such, Axio didn't doubt that whoever this one was, he wouldn't perform any worse, he didn't sound like a maniac compared to Vlasfimia and the yellow-eyed one, or at the very least, he was a calm maniac.

The wretch thus went through with the original plan, taking his little army of puppets and Souriceau to the deepest floor of Defy, this floor was much larger than the rest and didn't have any boss to challenge, it was believed that this rocky, dark and damp cave was supposed to push the adventurers to destroy the environment and prompt a fight they weren't likely to win.

The theory then went on to say that this would most likely earn them an astounding reward if they somehow managed to beat down the monstrosity that would show up, all of those that had attempted it had died.

This left the theory as a theory, until then, it was just as likely that this floor had no actual use apart from getting idiots killed.

The whole place was shrouded in deep darkness, only illuminated by bright plants growing all over the few pillars of rocks dispersed over the area.

The ceiling was high and covered with messy and entangled vines, about thirty meter high.

While the floor itself spanned over a few kilometers, coupled with the uneven and steep terrain, this made for a splendid battleground for the wretch.

He could run and hide for days in here, hiding within thin crevasses and such would be as easy as breathing for him.

The plan was simple, he currently had a nameless adventurer being detained by two orcs, each holding one of his pale arms, on his bare chest, the wretch had carved a few things, this had taken some time to do properly since his offense was still as shitty as always.

It wasn't too elaborate, he would send out this guy to tell of what was happening here, luring the most daring adventurers to this death trap, they especially would have much of a choice either, Axiolypito had worked the feeble broker to the bone.

After getting confirmation that he would have a get out of jail free card, he had doubled his efforts to put this plan into motion, forcing Souriceau to get more and more explosives and also to hire some criminals to assist him.

He had simply promised them that they could take whatever they wanted during the chaos.

Not only had explosives been set to collapse part of this floor to block the entrance once the targets were in, there were also some placed to demolish most of the unprotected guilds and even some that had defenses that couldn't stop the slippery wretch.

The weakest might die from them but the true aim was to instill chaos, this was how he was able to get those lowlifes to do his bidding after using Souriceau's wallet to first give them a preemptive payment.

"Fools" he muttered to himself gleefully, making the broker gulp in fear and step further away from Axio.

Despite his meager size, the wretch was truly emitting a foul aura that even Souriceau was able to feel.

Though, he wasn't allowed to go too far as he soon bumped into one of Axio's servant.

"The festivities should be starting soon enough..." he said with a bored tone, removing the hood off of his head and reverting his disguise, returning to his typical, and most certainly, dashing appearance.

Demonstrating that he wasn't just a monster in mind but in body as well, his cocky smirk filled with black teeth now out and visible for all to see.

Ignoring Souriceau's reaction, he closed his eyes and watched the fun through a few of his thralls, in a lower floor, a monster had a flock of underlings, he used those to see it all.

Although he had paid quite a few criminals, he still wasn't putting his trust in them, he couldn't believe that they would all do their parts after all, so the way the explosives were set up was quite specific.

He had dug tunnels for months to linked all the explosives together, and the bonus was that some roads might collapse amidst all of this.

So only one of those buffoons doing their job was enough for it to all work out just as he envisioned.

He saw one of them simply inject his mana before backing off, making the wretch snicker at his behavior, for a simple reason really...

He had never been planning on not harvesting their XP for himself as well, the area they were in was also filled with explosives, all of this thanks to Souriceau's hard work, Axio was able to shove bombs wherever he whished.

A colorful brazier, shards of all sorts flying through the air with brutal beauty, bits of flesh crashing against obstacles with satisfying tenderness.

The expressions of the bandits switching to utter horror as the heat of the blasts burned their hair to crisp and blinded them, shrapnels cutting through their feeble bodies.

Only the bandits that decided to ditch everything at the last moment managed to survive, their dishonesty rewarded.

Axiolypito felt a good chunk of XP making its way to him but he soon focused on something else as one of his puppet spotted the man he had turned into an unwilling messenger running toward Otrera, one good point about this guy was that he ran very fast.

The moment he was let loose, he booked out of there with his arms flailing around, the hold of the two orcs hadn't been gentle in the least.

Axio rubbed his hands together like a sleazy vendor as he eyed his targets going straight for it without wasting any time.

Especially after Axiolypito activated the small spawners he had forced the man to swallow, making him burst out with a variety of insects and bugs.

"It's showtime" he said aloud, sitting down onto a rock as if he owned the place.
