“Oighre Ceannard and her banoglach have been settled into the cabin as per your request,” Miguel sighed as he sat heavily on the small leather loveseat that took up much of the wall in my brother's old office.

The whole space smelled like my brother. I hadn’t anticipated the gut punch of grief that hit me when I walked into what was once his sovereign sanctuary as he called it. Every single inch of the floor-to-ceiling tongue and groove pine cabin smelled like Maddox. A jacket still hung on the knob behind the bathroom door.

Wedding plans were scattered across his desk. I had come in here looking for something specific when Miguel called me to say that one of our scouts had spotted Adel’s stepmother and step-aunt dragging her reluctantly into a small bridal shop in town. I hadn’t felt too concerned until he rang me again informing me that the slimy a**hole that was her cousin had slipped in behind them.
