Capítulo 304: Butterfly

Beta flashed out from behind Shirley and launched a Coin Bombardment at Bard.

The Coin Bombardment was very fast. As a pure spellcaster, Bard had no time to react. He only saw a flash of golden light, and his face was plastered with a heavy magic attack.

Thankfully, he was wearing a magic amulet and triggered the Light Magic Shield in response. Although he blocked the power of the magic attack, he was forced to step back.

When he steadied himself, he saw that Betta had taken out a gold coin from somewhere and tossed it upwards. When the gold coin landed on the ground, strands of golden light emerged from it. These golden lights constantly twisted and converged, and in a short period of time, it turned into a terrifying heavy-armored warrior who was two meters tall, wearing golden heavy armor, holding a golden tower shield and a golden broadsword.

Guardian of Faith!

It was a new spell that Beta had learned with his temple contribution points.

The basic strength of a summoned creature was determined by the summoner's level and Charisma. Although Beta wasn't a professional Summoner, his Charisma was 10.5, and he used a gold coin as a summoning medium. Therefore, the golden-armored Knight was extremely oppressive when he was summoned.

"Despicable!"

Bard felt a headache when he saw the golden-armored Knight. They had a chance of winning when it was two against two, but if the golden-armored Knight was added, their odds of winning would drop to a terrifying level.

"You can summon angels, too." Beta narrowed his eyes and smiled. He retorted without hesitation, "If you can summon angels, it'll be extremely easy for you to deal with us."

Hearing that, Bard gasped in fury, as if his heart and lungs were about to be spurted out.

Angel Summoning was one of the special skills of the Temple of Light, but it had a very strict requirement. One had to be Legendary to cast it.

After all, angels were proud creatures. If the summoner wasn't strong enough, they wouldn't bother to summon them. Guardians of Faith, on the other hand, were different. What was summoned was a walking puppet formed by magical elements. However, their intelligence was quite good. As long as the Spellcaster's level and Charisma were high enough, the Guardians of Faith that were summoned were quite powerful.

Bard suppressed his anger with great difficulty. Just as he was about to speak, he saw the trace of a sneer on Beta's face.

He was shocked and quickly retreated. Then, he saw a golden broadsword fly over and stab into the ground where he had just been standing.

If he had been half a beat slower, he would definitely have been split open by this broadsword.

"Despicable!"

This was the second time Bud had said this.

However, he didn't dare to say anything more, because after the Knight threw out his broadsword, he ran towards Bard with his square-shaped golden shield. This Golden Knight looked very tall and strong, and it was not wearing heavy armor. Logically speaking, it should be very inconvenient for it to move.

However, at this moment, Bard saw that the Heavy-Armored Knight was running very fast. Its golden boots clanked on the ground.

Shocked, he immediately flipped through the pages of his book and shouted at the Golden Armored Knight that was running towards him, "Weaken, Slow!"

These two spells were commonly used to deal with physical classes. The Golden Armored Knight was indeed slower. Seeing this, Bard heaved a sigh of relief. Just as he was about to release a light gun, he heard a soft voice from his opponent.

"Negative effects dispel!"

The magic scroll turned into a green light that enveloped the Golden Armored Knight … Then, the Knight suddenly sped up again.

Damn it! Bard cursed in his heart. He suddenly remembered that he was also facing a spellcaster.

Bard flipped through the magic book in his hand. Just as he was about to continue chanting, the Golden Armored Knight threw the shield in his hand.

Bard was shocked and hurriedly dodged to the side.

The shield smashed heavily on the stone floor, and a corner of it even smashed in. The flying pebbles hurt Bard's cheek, but he didn't have the time to care about these trivial things. The Golden Armored Knight, who had already retrieved his broadsword, had already run in front of him. The Golden Armored Knight swept the broadsword horizontally, drawing a golden arc in the air. Bard desperately jumped back and barely dodged the sword.

While he was in mid-air, he was about to celebrate when he saw a pillar of golden light suddenly shooting towards him.

"Coin Bombardment."

Bard was sent flying, and the Magic Amulet triggered the Shield of Light again.

He fell to the ground and then quickly got up. His heart was filled with horror. A golden-armored knight was enough to cause him trouble, and there was also a spellcaster on the other side … That was why he hated the profession that could summon. Moreover, there were two disasters now. His magic amulet that could trigger the Light Magic Shield had been broken.

In other words, he couldn't take another attack.

On the other side, his companion Lucian was entangled by the golden-haired woman. Both sides were fighting fiercely, but even so, Lucian was still at a disadvantage.

Both sides were suppressed. They were really in danger this time.

Of course, the main reason why they were so weak was related to the magic backlash. If it wasn't for the magic backlash that caused their spiritual power to drop, they wouldn't have been beaten so badly. At least, they would have been able to resist much more easily, and maybe even find a chance to counterattack.

Looking at the Golden Armored Knight rushing towards him, Bard took a deep breath and decided to use his trump card. In his heart, he didn't want to use this move at all. Although it was very powerful, the side effects were also very big.

In the blink of an eye, the Golden Armored Knight was already in front of him. The Golden Armored Knight raised the broadsword in his hand high and swung it down.

Bard took a deep breath and stood up. His hair began to turn black, and in less than a second, his entire body turned into black elements. The golden broadsword slashed down from above his head, streaking across his body and striking the ground, as if it had slashed the air!

At this time, Bard felt like his whole body was immersed in fire. He roared and rushed forward. He wanted to tear the Red Priest Beta into pieces.

Bard's black body was like a ghost, passing through the Golden Armored Knight's body. The Golden Armored Knight was stunned for a moment, then he knelt on one knee.

This was the Shadow Form that only a few Priests could master. It was a kind of mimicry of elemental life.

In this form, the Light Priest would become extremely powerful and have all kinds of special abilities.

In less than a second, Bard rushed in front of Beta. At this time, he saw the surprised look on Beta's face.

Great joy bloomed in Bard's heart. His opponent didn't know he had such an ability. He slowly stretched out his hand, wanting to make fun of his enemy. But at this time, he saw Beta sneer again.

Extreme uneasiness arose in Bard's heart. He subconsciously wanted to distance himself from this enemy, but it was too late.

"Light Spear."

A scroll had appeared in Beta's hand. Then, the scroll turned into a light spear. Beta held it in his hand and ruthlessly stabbed it into Bard's heart.

If it was a normal physical attack, it naturally wouldn't have any effect on Bard's Shadow Form. But the light spear was magic, and it was the nemesis of the dark element.

Bard retreated with the light spear. He reached out to pull it out, but he couldn't. At this time, he was still in the Shadow Form.

"How can you use Light Magic?!" Bard shouted in fear. "How can someone who doesn't believe in light use Light Magic?"

Beta chuckled. Before the Goddess of Light appeared, light had already existed. It was the human world's worship of light that gave birth to the Goddess of Light. Anything that existed objectively could be used by anyone. The Goddess of Light couldn't deprive any creature of that right.

Lucian, the Paladin, saw that and roared angrily. He wanted to help, but Shirley stopped him. Because of his impulsiveness, he had two more wounds on his body.

Three seconds later, Bard, heavily wounded, fell to the ground with his head lowered. He had automatically canceled the Shadow Form, but the light spear was still stuck in his body and pierced into his heart. In fact, if he had pulled out the light spear before he returned to his human form, he could've survived. Unfortunately, nobody could help him.

The outcome had been decided!

While Beta was thinking that, Bard moved again. Dazzling light emanated from his body, like a small sun.

He glanced at Beta and simply waved his hand, establishing an enormous energy wall in front of Beta and Shirley.

It blocked Beta and Shirley, but let Lucian in.

This energy wall had the effect of preventing sound from penetrating. Betta couldn't hear what the sad Lucian was saying, but he could see that Bard's right hand was pressing on Lucian's head, and the Paladin was kneeling on one knee.

The light on Bard's body quickly disappeared and was transferred to Lucian.

Three seconds later, the magic wall was gone, and Bard turned back into an ordinary person. Then, he dispersed into smoke and dust, never to be seen again.

Lucian stood up. He could see that the energy wings on his body had turned from silver to gold.

A Master!

The sign that a Paladin became a Master was that the energy wings turned from silver to gold.

"Things are getting tricky." Beta mumbled. In the game, the Priests of Light didn't have such an ability. Was it a new magic technology that had been developed in the past three hundred years?

Paladin was a bug-like class. Before, they could suppress the Paladin with their level advantage, but now, the Paladin was not only a Master, but also a higher level than him and Shirley.

Level 12. That was the notification from Beta's system.

Lucian flapped his wings and flew. After becoming a Master, the Paladin could fly.

Shirley immediately ran to Beta and asked, "What should we do? Should we run first?"

It was indeed a good idea, but Beta didn't want to do that. If he ran, what about Katie and the forty guards outside of the temple?

"Let's do it."

Beta took a deep breath. He still had trump cards, and Shirley wasn't weak. If he could find a way to summon Kati, the odds of winning would be high.

Lucian flashed in the sky. Looking at Beta and Shirley, he shouted, "Heretics, today, you will … Ah!"

A miserable scream came from Lucian's mouth as a silver light descended from the sky, directly throwing Lucian from the sky to the ground.
