I sat on my cushioned seat and tried desperately not to fidget. I would rather face down a herd of Civna than sit here waiting for Aleksi's family to arrive. He had helped me prepare foods that they should be at least somewhat interested in. Even so I could not help but be afraid that they would hate what I thought was a beautiful home. In the span of just a few days Vinci had turned Aleksi's barren den into a home fit for Human lords. No doubt if my sisters could see this they would seethe with envy.
