Capítulo 32: Chapter 32: Overtures

It was late morning when Azia left her mother's quarters the following day. She walked with purpose down the hallway, but Azia let her mind wander and review what her mother had said during their meeting. They had gotten together many times over the last several weeks, on Vivian's insistence. She wanted Azia as well prepared as possible to become Alpha.

Azia stared down at her boots as she walked, and smiled to herself. "You've come such a long way," her mother had told her during their meeting. "You have been dedicated to learning, and dedicated to this role the moment you were officially named my heir," Vivian had said. "And you were willing to change your own future, in order to secure the future of your pack. I could not be more proud of you."

The words hung in the air around Azia, like a pleasant perfume, as she left. It felt so good to make her mother and her pack proud. It felt so good to hear that she was on the right path.
