Capítulo 2: Winged Beast
Violet's POV
I must have passed out. Is it morning now? I wake up and check my surroundings. I'm not in a house, well a modern house. I sit up and feel below me. Hay? A huge amount of hay or straw underneath me. It looks like a nest. Wait! The birdlike figure was someone who flew me away from all those cult men. Is he one of them too? I walk towards the entrance. It's not that far from the nest. I looked outside and saw how high up in the mountains I was. Way too high! If I walked out a few feet I would fall to my death.
Why am I here? I turn around and check out the other building-like structures next to us. They look like little caves in the mountains. If we were on a plane it would look like small golfer holes in the edges of the mountains. That's the best way to explain it. This nest is empty, no furniture, no stove, no light figures or blankets. It truly is just a huge nest!
System notification: "Congratulations on choosing your first husband. By completing your first choice you have now progressed to the next stage of your life in the Beast World."
"Who are you and what is this Beast World and why am I here?" I ask the voice which sounds like a game announcer
System: " I am the main system of this world. You have entered the Beast World, after the car accident. You have been given a second chance." says the System
"Second chance? So I died?" I ask the System
System: " I am not able to answer that but I can tell you why you are here and what needs to be done. You were given a chance to reincarnate. In order for you to do that a god has granted you a chance to change this world for the better. If you succeed in doing this and helping the god of this land, he will grant you to reincarnate for a second life." he says to me
"Reincarnate? Change this world? How can someone like me do something like this? I don't know how to change this world?" I ask him
System: "Don't worry. It's my job to assist you through the stages. Each time you successfully complete a quest or goal you move forward towards the main goal of kingdom success.
"I have no choice, don't I?" I ask him
System: "Either that or you can go back to limbo and wait to be saved there." he says to me
"Limbo? So I have to save this word and I can reincarnate back to my world? Are there rules and when does this need to be done?" I ask
System: "Limbo is where all lost souls wait to be saved by reapers. Once saved you can reincarnate or ascend to Heaven or Hell. Yes you can reincarnate back to your world. Rules? It would be to complete the quests and make this world a successful place. The deadline is 2 years."
"2 years? How is anyone supposed to change this world to become a successful world with so little time? And what does the level of success mean? Do I have to like have running cars and skyscrapers up?" I asked anxiously
System: "No. They need to be civilized and to the point where they have established a government like system with a flourishing civilization. I will be here the whole time walking you through. Every time you complete a quest or goal you will receive a bonus item to help you get closer to completion."
"So how do I reach you or when do I know when a quest comes?" I ask
System: " A notification will pop up. You can choose which one you want to accept. The better the choice, the better the results. Here is a bracelet. In the bracelet will be your storage of bonus items you receive. This has unlimited storage space. So you can enter and add as many items as you want. Since you have completed a goal of choosing your "First Potential Husband", here is a bonus item."
"First potential husband? What does that mean?" I ask nervously
I have not even dated anyone yet in my previous life and now I will have a potential husband? What kind of game or world is this?
System: "Don't worry he will let you know what this means soon. Here is the bonus item. This is a book that adds some information about this world every few goals. It has some good information and data content of this world that will help you cultivate and have better chances to complete all of your quests. The first few pages include a map of the Beast Kingdom with details of each location so far located. We have also added a fishing rod and net."
"Is this world really that bad where there are not any restaurants or grocery stores to go pick up food?" I ask sadly
System: "Yes. No electricity, no air conditioning, lights, stores and malls. Everything has reverted back to caveman days pretty much."
"Looks like I have a lot of work to do from here. Thank you for the book and items. I am lucky my father was a fisherman and taught me how to fish and use a net." I say
System: "That may or may not help you now, but it looks like it's time for your first goal to start. Good luck Human. May you get this chance to redeem yourself"
The system notification disappears. I am left in silence where I look around again to see how I can get out of this place.
"You seem to not be familiar with where you are?" The birdlike man that saved me earlier comes in saying to me
This man is slender and tall. Not as muscular as the other males I have encountered but very fit and lean. Purple hawk-like eyes. So dark when looking at them I feel like he sees right through me. He is quite handsome as well. His broad shoulders and long black braided hair is so beautiful, almost as good as my hair.
"I am not familiar at all. This is a new environment for me. I am clueless as to how to even leave this place." I say back to him
"You want to leave?" He asks sadly
"It's more like I don't know where to go and what to do and how to?" I start saying
I can't finish this sentence since it's me actually finding a way to go back home. He won't understand that and may think I'm crazy.
"What tribe are you from? You don't look like any familiar beast from here." he says to me accusingly
What should I say now? I have no idea what to say since I don't have a tribe.
System Notification: "Your potential husband is uncertain of you and may leave you behind. Get him to trust you to move towards the next phase."
What! He wants to leave me? I have to figure something out asap!
"I don't remember anything. Just that I was lost in the forest and kept running. I must have lost my memory since I don't know where this is." I say back to him
Hopefully he can understand the guilt trip I am trying to send to him. Memory loss was the only thing I could think of. He stares at me and I see him thinking of something.
"My name is Jee. I am the Raven Prince here in the mountains. Here we have multiple forms of bird beasts who live peacefully with each other. You are not a bird beast but you are a female. You will soon find out how important you are to our existence. I had found you when you were running away from the wolf clan and waited for you to ascend to the sky.
There are rules here in the Beast World. The ground is for the 4 legged beasts. The mid level are for the swingers. Sky is for the winged beasts. I waited for you to go into the trees to see if you needed help. It looked like you did. I brought you here to see if you would think of living here but it looks like you don't. I would never force any female to live here, but keep in mind, down there is no better than up here. They are more uncultured. They are the true definitions of beasts!" he says to me warningly
"It's not that I don't want to be here. It's just so high. What if I fall? What will happen then?" I asked worriedly
"That would never happen. We have scouts everywhere in the mountains. And even though we live high up in the mountains there are still communities where we have winged beasts living in the mid and lower levels of the Beast Kingdom. We just decide to stay here since no one else can get to us and we be an easy target." he says back to me concerned
"Easy target? Are there enemies in the beast world?" I ask concerned
"Anywhere you go others will try to take your territory. We are not a large group but we stay to ourselves and it's peaceful here. The land is not the best but we make it work. Would you like to see our territory?" he asks me
"Yes. I would love to." I said back to him. It's time for me to get him to trust me
