Ella saw Michael approaching a black car, its outline faintly visible in the darkness. She squinted, trying to make out the details, but the shadows obscured her view. She strained her eyes to take a good look at it as she moved forward.

Ella's heart raced with excitement and trepidation. Could this be Jasper's car? She hadn't had a chance to memorize the license plate, but something about the vehicle seemed familiar.

A glimmer of hope surged within her, like a flickering flame reigniting in the darkness. Her steps slowed as she neared the car, her eyes fixed on the driver's seat.
