Capítulo 20: The Girl Who Was a Gift From God
Sometimes, fate binds two people that were never meant to be.
Under the terrible, disgusting night sky, a young boy lay. Around his body was a pool of blood as red as the moon—a truly ironic sight. Taking in breath after breath, he felt his body slowly shut down. Quivering in the snow, he looked around, watching the cruel world slowly fall into the darkness of death.
A glimmer of light appeared in the distance. At first, it was no bigger than a pin in the distance. However, the light grew and grew like a shard of hope; eventually, the soft touch reached the young boy's hand. Looking up, he saw a beautiful girl, no older than himself, with dark, natural blue hair flowing like a waterfall.
"People are terrible, aren't they?" she gently whispered.
The boy couldn't utter a word in response. However, for the first time in his life, he felt warmth in his heart.
Softly stroking the boy's hair, she laid his head on her lap.
"I'm here to protect you—you're safe now~"
Her voice was melodic, like a harp, calming the boy's fear.
"Whether I like it or not, I'm God's Gift to The World. And I will fulfil my duty."
—This was when the boy fell in love.
At the time, the boy had only one personality. A personality that was both hot and cold, a personality that was both cruel and sweet. Little did he know, this personality of his would be hidden behind another.
All of this occurred before Kay Rudiless existed.

Sitting with Shiina, the two of them dived into their freshly-prepared meals from the school. For the class-A students, there was a special grass-fed steak. Other students looked over in envy as they watched the upper-ranked students eating premium meals that they had no access to.
Suddenly, there was a loud clanging sound before he saw Alice frantically covering up some food that had fallen to the ground. From a distance, it was somewhat difficult to see. However, it was clear that someone had pushed her food off the table.
After quickly cleaning it up, Alice ran out of the cafeteria.
Needing another opportunity to talk to her, Kay got out of his seat.
"I'll be back in a little while," he told Shiina.
"Yeah, yeah."
It seemed that Shiina was still focused on eating her food. Not even looking up at Kay, she responded indifferently.
Making his way down the hall, Kay followed the path that Alice had gone. She was quite a decent distance in front of him, so he was only able to see her fleetingly. Rushing through the white, elegant school, Kay chased her. As he ran, he could hear the subtle sounds of sobbing.
Eventually, Alice stopped before falling to her knees in a relatively empty area. She completely covered her eyes with her sleeves, crying into her arms.
Walking up to her, Kay looked down.
"Did you get bullied by your brother again?"
"...shut up. Go away...!"
"What's happening between you guys anyways."
"...just... leave me alone."
"What are you guys fighting about."
"...none of your business."
Ah, how cold.
Kay lowered his head and moved a little closer.
"I'll leave if you tell me."
"...you're so annoying... but fine, although you won't understand... it's about The Girl Who Was a Gift From God."
