Sage packed a small bag, being sure that the book was securely tucked away. She and Caspian would travel to the coven while Felix would return to the pack and relay Caspian’s message of warning to his father. They wished Felix good luck and he returned the sentiment.
They moved swiftly, traveling home to the coven. Sage knew their chances of convincing the coven Elders to try and save Nikolas would increase if they had her mother on their side. As they rode through town, the witches and warlocks that were outside stopped and stared at Caspian.
“Still glad you came?” Sage asked.
Caspian laughed. “A few death stares won’t scare me.”
Sage smiled. His confidence was admirable.
They approached her house, and Sage was suddenly nervous for her mother to meet her mate. This would be their first encounter, and she hadn’t realized being so focused on their task. They dismounted and Caspian shot her a reassuring smile before they stepped inside.
