Sage took her time traveling back up to the castle. She felt too restless to go to sleep so she walked through the empty halls, taking turns until she was lost. She wanted time alone to think.

Caspian was irresistibly sexy. Seeing him tonight acting in a role he was born for had caused her to see him differently. She had to admit, her admiration for him was growing. There was no question he was powerful, not only as an individual but within his pack. There had been this unspoken respect that resonated amongst the other shifters. Even when his brother had challenged him, Sage could still see who was truly in charge.

She had been surprised he initially invited her, and was no less stunned after tonight. What she had witnessed was an intimate event and she could understand why the shifters wouldn’t feel comfortable with one of their enemies present. It was their time to unleash, not hide who they were. Did Caspian feel she was trustworthy enough to witness it? It seemed like it.
