Capítulo 10: Intruder
The sound was small but I heard it through my incredible hearing skills. A shadow loomed at my window and in less than seconds a body hovered over mine.
"Who are you?"
A knife is lodged on the side of my neck and as much as I can protect myself, I cannot really handle the heavy weight atop of me.
"Someone you shouldn't know" his voice is muffled under the cloth wrapped on his mouth.
"What do you want with me?" I am in the least bit scared at this point since this was expected.
But I don't want to die.
"I want nothing from you, I just want you gone" the knife scrapes the skin on my neck. I hiss in pain, footsteps come from outside my room.
The dark orbs glaring at me snap to look at the door, alarmed. I take my chance and use my knee to smack his groin, the knife slices flesh and I hiss rolling away from him.
I fall on the carpeted floor then quickly press a cloth to my neck wound. He must have hit a vain in the process which could put me in great danger.
My door snaps open letting in cold air that whips hair to my face. The intruder is already behind me, he pulls me against him then again, the knife is on my neck.
The blood slipping in between my fingers makes me flinch.
"STEP BACK!" he yells to Reynolds and a few other guards.
Reynolds eyes are lit up in excitement, he doesn't step up and I really want to tell him to step back too.
"I said step back!" the intruders voice wavers, the fear is seeping into his veins. I can feel it.
"Oh I heard you the first time you don't have to burst her ear drums with your yelling" Reynolds says walking closer. The knife bites my skin so I decide to step in, "Just step back Reynolds"
The intruder immediately hisses in pain, he let's go of me and Reynolds is quick to grab my elbow and pull me behind him.
"What did you do to me you witch?"
I watch as his wrist burn from the contact of my blood with his skin. Reynolds signifies for the rest of the guards carry the intruder out of my room. The physician is already on his way, am sure.

It's dawn, that's when finally all of the people who had crowded my space leave. The royal physician and his assistants, my brother, Reynolds, the guards and lastly Charleston.
I am pretty sure, this, will be mentioned in the report tomorrow.
And, I am really thinking on my deal with Reynolds. It's alluring, my life is currently threatened and him helping me would be very helpful since I won't be leaving the bed for a while.
I lie down and stare outside from my window. I watch the sun rise from the horizon.

The next time I peel my eyes opened I'm met by Chance's.
"Hi" I greet sitting up then my gaze drops to the Charleston report.
"Hi, how are you feeling now?"
"I'm good, I feel better" I say assessing his disheveled hair and rumpled clothing. "I'm sorry I wasn't there"
"It's okay Rosaline, you needed the sleep it wasn't so bad" he says shrugging but I know it's a lie the minute he rubs his ear.
His lie mechanism.
"Yes it was, am sorry" he rubs his temple's then stares at me for a while.
"You're going to hate me, aren't you going to read that he gave some very good information about your Dad"
"Not in the mood, tell something that's not printed" I urge.
"There has been called an emergency Court Meeting earlier today"
"Why?"
"It's printed in there, read for yourself" his eyes looks fearful as he regards the sheet in front of me. "I have been gathering information and many people, in the castle that I've been speaking with say, that you've been leaving the castle on some nights"
I frown surprised, "What?"
"They say you leave immediately after you help me, do you remember any of it?"
"No I have no idea"
"I have to go" he says out of the blue. "I'll be back, I promise"
"Ok, can you tell one of the guards to summon Reynolds for me" he narrows his eyes amusement dancing in his eyes.
"You know that you're not supposed to engage with Castle Staff"
"I am not doing such a thing"
"I hope so" he smiles walking out.
Minutes later Reynolds waltzes in and offers a small curtsey.
"You summoned me"
"Yes I did, about your proposal, I'll take it but," he smiles like it's the best thing that has ever happened to him, "that condition should be something that's in my capability"
"I promise, you'll be very capable" he grins. I really don't love how comfortable he seems around me, but there's nothing I can do about it.
"Is it something that I'll like?"
"Depends, you should read that" he points to the Report.
"I will, am hungry"
Depends on what?
