CHAPTER 153 — Their Confessions

Kaikane had least expected her to react that way and taken hold of whatever opportunity was presented to her.

His eyes remained wide, staring into her closed eyelids while her lips performed their magic on his lips. 

Irrespective, Kaikane did not move a muscle and stopped breathing instead. A few seconds later, Ronelle broke what would in time be called their first kiss. 

Her eyelids fluttered slowly as her courage began to fade away.

He did not return the kiss. Had she read the wrong signs from him or...?

Her mind fought to get the truth about what happened. Was he that shocked by her actions? Did he not fancy her?

Several thoughts ran through her mind as she tried hard to get an answer to every question. All but a negative answer echoed deeply in her mind — he does not love you.

She felt her heart clench at the thought and released his right hand.
