Brett Youngshaper opened his eyes to look at the person who disturbed his sleep.

At first, he was unable to see anything. He was surrounded by utter darkness. A series of rattling sounds were heard when he tried to move his limbs.

He was chained to the wall.

"It is futile to try to free yourself," the person spoke again.

"I am here. Look at me."

After a while, Brett's eyes gradually adapted themselves to the darkness. He was able to see the man in front of him. Although he looked disheveled with black rings around his dark brown eyes, he still emanated the aura of a pack leader. Brett's eyes widened from surprise when he realized who it was.

The man smirked.

"I knew that you would remember me. Fancy seeing you alive and well. I thought that I killed you back then."
