The rabid vampires who were unquestionably loyal and obedient in front of Aiden became rather restless when Ryan was around.

To put it in an analogy, a ship must only have one captain. With two pure-blood vampires around, there was one additional captain on the ship and the ship crews were conflicted.

That's why, the ship crews decided to stay away from the two captains. Which was magnificent, because the two captains would rather be alone.

This was clear to all the rabid vampires but not clear to Liam, who kept wanting to look for Aiden and make his master pamper him. Sometimes the rabid vampires wondered if Liam understood the term "master" or not. It could be that for Liam, a "master" was no different from a "father" who he could demand love and attention from.
