Alain Matthews could hardly believe his eyes.

And there he was, walking leisurely in his direction, with a head full of rebellious red hair and a pair of red eyes that unmistakably announced his vampire identity.

Goosebumps spread across Alain's body when their eyes met. But then Aiden averted his eyes.

Was he pretending not to know him?

What about Ryan? Had he not seen Ryan?

Wait, did he not care to reveal himself before Ryan?

Alain's mouth went dry.

In that case, why did he not offer his half-brother one more assistance?

When Ryan ended his phone call and turned to walk with Alain to the cemetery, Alain yanked hard at his arm to distract him.

Ryan furrowed his brows in confusion.

"What's wrong?" he asked his foster son in bewilderment.

Alain's eyes swiftly moved to the side. He caught the silhouettes of the three vampires passing the electric limousine.
