Capítulo 105: An Unwanted Invitation

Cheryl Matthews disliked Aiden, and Aiden knew it very well.

It thus came off as a surprise when the former gave him a call.

The first thing that crossed Aiden's mind when he saw her name across the screen was that something terrible had happened to Jack Matthews. An awful father he was, but nevertheless still Aiden's father.

"Yes, Aunt Cheryl?" he thus quickly answered.

He regretted it as soon as he heard Cheryl's singsang tone over the phone.

"Oh, hiiiii Aiden. How are you?"

Aiden closed his eyes, full of remorse. Once he opened his eyes again, he walked over to the nearest tree, and responded to Jack Matthews' second wife.

"I am fine. Is something the matter?"

"Oh, I just want to remind you that Alain's birthday is coming up soon. He is going to be eighteen years old! We are going to host a party for him. You are of course invited!"

Aiden's lips were pulled into a pathetic smile.
