"Noo, we can't leave now. There is a neon party at night and I looked forward to it. Please, just try to live in the moment." Christian begged, regretting the decision of bringing her with him.
"You have been saying this since noon. Look the time is about to be nine and I am really bored."
"Why don't you dance with me?" He asked knowing what her answer would be.
"I can't even move a leg let alone dancing. Stop joking and let's just leave." She spoke sternly while the boy pouted.
Of course, who is going to speak against their main angel unless they want trouble so badly but he knew Kristen was easy. He is her friend, right? She should keep an eye closed when he needs something. Kristen also knew the other was having fun and it is unfair to drag him back but the scent of humans was intoxicating for her. Maybe because it was unusual and she is still taking time to understand the basics of human life on Earth.
"Alright, I will come. If that is what you want. You are no different than my family, always wanting to control me and not let me have fun."
"Are you trying to make me feel bad or change my mind?"
"I know it is working." He smiled, his eyes turning similar to a crescent moon.
"Damn, you! Fine, enjoy the night and I will be by the ocean. You can find me if you call my name thrice and please, no testing." She gave him a fake smile and he happily nodded while doing a little happy dance.
"Take care and be safe. You can come find me here too, in case you are in trouble." He bowed before running back to the bunch of people who were awaiting him.

Kristen was slowly walking by the ocean side, her feet slightly touching the cold water and she could feel a whole lot of emotions. She was unknowingly staring at the sky, which was at the other end of the never-ending ocean, a lot of stars twinkling as the lights were null. She missed her home, and everyone there and wondered how things are going on. She was having unwanted thoughts as if what would be done if she fails the mission. Will they never meet her and directly send her to hell? Will she get a chance to meet her people?
Kristen knew the reason why her uncle created her was for something like this or to keep someone powerful to guard heaven. It was nothing emotional but purely professional because she remembers how lonely she was when other angels kept her at a distance not bothering to include her in their talks. She played alone, ate alone, and went for prayers alone until one day a man suddenly approached her.
She was first scared of him because no one ever goes to her unless it is with some tasks or experiments to test her powers. But for once, she felt at ease when the man gave her a smile before initiating a conversation. It was very comforting when he talked about things that were nothing related to powers but about her hobbies and real interests. After that, they spent a lot of time together where he used to gift her a bunch of books and some coloring facilities so she can paint.
He used to sing well and she was never running out of random tunes whenever she was alone or drawing. He was an incredible man and soon he took her to meet his family, Kristen knew that was it for her life and she had be killed in an instant but things flipped. She realized that she was destined to be with him, Gabriel who is the son of God, himself.
"Miss, are you lost?" A sudden voice startled her and she jumped back in an instant.
"S-sorry." Kristen spoke after a few seconds, trying to calm down.
"I should be the one to say sorry for scaring you."
It was an old woman, probably around the age of sixty on Earth. Kristen noticed that she wore a fancy dress, maybe one of the traditional outfits but she had no idea from which region. No one on Earth wore such dress as far as she saw. Most of them barely wear anything to cover themselves. Kristen was again spacing out when the woman chuckled lowly and held her hands to pull her out of the water that was covering her feet.
"You will catch a cold." She spoke while putting on a scarf on the girl.
"T-thank you. You don't have to, I am really fine." Kristen found the behavior so warm and kind, rare in humans.
"You need it, dear."
"What about you? Why are you out this late and that too alone?" She asked out of concern.
"I should be asking that. There is a party over there and what is a girl like you doing alone in the dark and that too in front of an ocean?"
"I don't find any interest in that. My friend dragged me here." She pouted, staring at the faint light which came from far. She really walked too far and blame it on her never-ending thoughts.
"Same here. I don't find anything interesting after my husband died. I just come here and sit for a while so I can feel him next to me. We used to come here often."
"I am sorry for your loss. If you want to sit somewhere, we can." Kristen spoke noticing it would be hard for an old woman to stand for too long.
Kristen and the old woman finally sat down at the end of the stairs, where she was guided. They both stared at the ocean for some time and the old woman started talking about herself, that is what all old people do. She introduced herself as Mrs.Hwang and how she shifted to America with her husband from her home country after marriage.
