Allen had dual reasons for seeking out Eliphas: first and foremost, his concern for Felicia and, secondly, his quest for information regarding Novatio. Despite being aware of Eliphas's reluctance to address external questions and student concerns, Allen was determined to press on with his questions.
"I need to know about Felicia," he began. "Is she still alive?"
In response, Eliphas countered, "what if she's dead?"
"If that happens then I won't hesitate to finish off Novatio directly."
"If you take that path, you will once again dirty your own hands, and the academy will descend into chaos, dragging countless students into the turmoil," Eliphas cautioned.
Allen's eyes widened in shock at the implication that Eliphas might be privy to his intentions. "That's not important," Allen retorted. "I was a murderer from the start, one or two dead people is no big deal."
