When Chase finished the tasks Simon had planned for him he tried to stay a little later to help clean up. Simon wasn't having it though and told him as much with a stern, “You can't avoid Morgan forever,” just before he ushered him out the door.
Chase stood outside the infirmary for a moment, staring at the door in betrayal. After a brief moment, he turned back towards the center of the village where the manor stood proudly.
He took a deep steadying breath and made his way towards it, trying to quell any anxious thoughts. He was on a mission to make up with Morgan and hopefully put a stop to the awkward tension between the two of them until he could figure out how to fully confront Morgan.
By the time Chase reached the manor his nerves weren’t any better, he still felt tense and stressed. He paused at the door to breathe before opening it slowly. When he stepped inside fully he was greeted with the delicious smell of something cooking.
