All through the rest of the day, Veron's mind refused to let go and forget about what happened at the shooting range.

Right up till the moment when they went to get food from a restaurant, the only topic on his mind was what to do next from here.

Karina didn't bother him. He had been extraordinarily quiet ever since they left the shooting range. She figured something was bothering him and decided it was best to let him be.

After he left her and went to the car, he didn't return inside again. She had to go find him when she had exhausted the rounds made available for her, only to find him seated alone in the car, eyes closed with a large unlit cigar in his mouth.

Before she could say something to announce her arrival, he opened his eyes and looked in her direction. He didn't say much, only asking her if she was done. And when she affirmed she was, he gestured for her to get into the car and they drove away from there to a restaurant.
