Capítulo 35: Old Friends
It's so damn boring... there's seriously nothing to do. I've gone through all my food, and am currently going to a village or so miles away from me. But that not enough... food and water aren't a problem, but boredom is! I wonder how soldiers do this... I hear they sometimes go around the entire Jianbukecui's perimeter... Excluding the west, of course. That place is like Mexico—Americans, but not Americans. Damn imperialists¹, am I right?
Ugh, I think I'm going crazy. And I think my horse is almost dead... well, I'm sure he's fine. He'll just walk it off. For another four days... I can only hope his legs don't give out. Otherwise, I'll be in for the long run — the really long run.
I guess those scholars that say humans can't live without other humans in a "totally" non-sexual way had some truth behind what they said, haha. Ha. Ugh.
Sometimes, I wish for the Jianbukecui to fall. I want to see the void creatures master was talking about and whatever was outside the wall... unfortunately, there's no way in or out of the wall...
Qianzai Zhujiao... Zhejiang... poor rat (Zhejiang). I wonder how she'll feel when she realized I named her after my childhood crush. Wait, now that I think about it, it hasn't even been that long since I last saw Zhujiao! Well, I guess a year IS a long time, but still... wait a second... Zhejiang finding out she was named after Zhujiao is a problem, yes. But Zhujiao finding out I named someone Zhejiang?! That's even worse than I could ever imagine! First of all, she'll know I'm crushing on her. Second of all, she'll find me creepy as hell. And finally, I'll never have a chance with her in this life!
Hopefully Zhejiang wouldn't mind being a replacement for my wife as well... oh wait, I have Ruan Gao! I guess Zhejiang will be a concubine? But I don't like the thought of sending my concubine to the battlefield as cannon fodder, so I guess I'll just marry Ruan Gao and send Zhejiang to the battlefield. Where exactly is the battlefield? It's the slums. Also known as the drop-off point for useless soldiers, slaves and people alike. Basically, you find someone useless, and you send them there. That's basically it.
Damn imperialists: you don't have to understand this statement. It's more a personal opinion rather than part of the story.

CatHam So... 1-100 minus Remembrance = fillers. The plot-plot REALLY begins at ch. 101. And does anyone remember chowder? Who I thought for years was a girl before I saw an ep w/ that bunny w/ an unhealthy addiction. And Courage the cowardly dog too. Courage was a somewhat love-hate thing for me, yk? I still remember this ep where the old dude nearly exploded bcos he couldn't get a thread through the needle. I understand that pain, lol.
