Rose enthusiastically helped Christopher prepare for his court appearance. As she buttoned up his dress shirt, the rhythmic sound of his study breathing was soothing as it filled her ears.

She could smell the sweet scent of white flowers coming from his skin. The sight of this handsome man made her heart swell. Although, the thought of him having to testify for Magnus caused her stomach to turn.

She helped him neatly comb his raven black hair and placed the pocket watch and fob in the breast pocket of his vest. She noticed his dress shoes were polished to a high shine as she tied each one on his feet.
