Chapter 11: Across the Line
Andrew Fray POV:
Holly and I were in the bar, though we had taken a secluded booth instead of our usual place at the counter.
That was a good thing considering we didn’t want anyone to overhear our conversation. And I didn’t want people to overhear how pissed I was over this.
“So, because I walked in on two maniacs trying to cut up my client’s father, your superiors are sending you to Boston to get up close and personal with the man who ordered him killed. Is that the gist of it?”
“Pretty much,” Holly replied, taking a sip of her drink.
That didn’t make sense to me. At all.
“Why you, Holly? I asked. “If people want someone to go undercover, why send you? Why not send someone higher up like a fed? And why send someone who lives so far away from Boston? Doesn’t Boston have its own cops?”
“Boston has cops,” Holly confirmed, sounding grim. “That’s part of the problem. We got an ID on the other guy you saw. The one helping to cut up the body.”
