Capítulo 248: Returning concern
When Alex awoke the next day he was surprised to find that the previously barren island was now covered in vines and moss. He himself was also covered in greenery that had likely crept over him as he slept. He was pretty sure that this was a result of his elder dragon aspect just at a much faster rate than before. Restricting his energy to the inside of his body Alex watched on as the rapid growth and change of the plantlife halted immediately before his eyes. 'As interesting as this is I have a bigger concern right now.' he thought seriously.-
It didn't fail to dawn on Alex that he was now drastically different looking than before not only in size but appearance as well. The change in coloration was irrelevant since he could adjust that at will but the fact he was only slightly smaller than the alatreon shown in the game as well as the other small changes would be much harder to explain. 'I suppose there's no point in trying to avoid it so i may as well explain that this was a result of me gaining the ice element.' he thought with a sigh before burning away the plants holding him down.-
Unfurling his wings that now filled a wide area Alex took off into the air leaving behind the now green island while adjusting his coloration to his "normal" black coloration. None of the wingdrakes or seafaring birds dared to get anywhere near him as he flew over the waters. Meanwhile back at astera the people in charge were trying to figure out where Alex went since his leaving the town was far too coincidental. "You are sure that he didn't say anything to anyone about where he was going?" the commander asked the admiral seriously.-
The admiral shook his head "I checked with everyone and the story is always that he just left like normal but never returned. Way I see it Sid probably had a good reason to leave." the large man said seriously. "Sid's loyalty wasn't in question. What is in question is why he left instead." the commander said with a tired sigh. "It's possible he felt the movement that this new elder made when we disturbed it. It wouldn't be the first time such a resonance has been noticed as during the events of the hero's time a similar phenomena was recorded." the head scholar pointed out.-
Everyone seemed to fall into thought at this as it had a few implications that were very important. The first was that it was only the true apex species such as the ill recorded fatalis that had shown this before. The second was if Alex even qualified in this category as every recorded member of it was a massive threat capable of wiping out vast swathes of habitat at once. Despite Alex's capabilities having been recorded they were skeptical if he fell in this category since he had never actually gone all out in a wide area attack as he relied on precision normally.-
This debate continued for another hour before a lookout spotted a very large monster flying straight towards astera. All the hunters were quickly mobilized in a defensive manner at the thought that something may be attacking them. This concern was dismissed however when Alex got close enough that his features could be made out more clearly. "Well that certainly wasn't on the list of ideas why he left but definitely makes sense , he's nearly doubled in size." the admiral said with a chuckle and a sigh.-
This wasn't a joke either as while standing at his full height Alex was nearly thirteen feet tall at his shoulder. His length minus his tail was no laughing either at nearly forty feet long with his tail being nearly double the length of the rest of his body putting him at a solid one hundred and twentyish feet long from nose to tip of the tail. Standing in front of a dragon that was nearly the size of a bus was very grating on the nerves as all the hunters could attest when Alex landed outside of the town.
