"Look, I know that you're absolutely brilliant, but sometimes you can be real stupid, you know that?"
At the harsh words, Dahlia did her best to look sheepish, averting her eyes from a rather irritated vampiress all while also trying to not pay too much attention to the overly needy vines that continued to crawl and explore all over her body. Not in a creepy way mind you, these vines were far too shy for anything unsavoury. Rather, they behaved more like a curious but shy puppy, both hesitant to approach but endlessly inquisitive. Already, Dahlia had found them quite cute.
"Uhm, well, you see Val, we were talking and -hnrk–"
Just as the girl went to make a well thought out apology and explanation however, one such vine decided that it was a good time to explore and shoved itself up her nose, cutting her short and leading to Valentina snorting while restraining her own laughter.
Not my proudest chapter, but I really wanted to get this out. Unfortunately, this was always planned to be a bit of an exposition dump chaapter, but I still wish I managed to do better. This has mostly set up everything to come for the rest of the Calanthian arc though, so now next chapter we'll meet the ar'ca'nea and we'll see how things go from there!
In other news, my surgery went well! I discovered that I don't handle anaesthetic well, but otherwise I'm recovering well and am now officially missing an internal organ (woohoo!) Because I'm supposed to take it easy for the couple weeks following the surgery, I plan to try and be productive and write every day for the next bit! Don't expect extra chapters though... sorry, but I want to try and make a backlog. If I'm productive though, I'm hoping to build up some chapters to help with a month of daily releases later this year!
Also also, I plan to start looking over old chapters and starting to rewrite them to get them up to standard. This would likely just be for the first thirty or so chapters, at least for now, but if you have any recomendations, suggestions, feedback, etc, then I would love to hear it!
Anywaaaaaays, that's all from me today and sorry for the long author's note. But, as always, I hope you're having a wonderful day!
