Capítulo 27: You Two Are Very Stupid
Yennefer arrived at the royal hall, and a deep breath exited her nose as she stood in front of the door.
The glares and the hateful eyes she will be getting today will be unimaginable, considering her awful reputation and how everyone views her.
A long deep breath exited her nose, and once the royal announcer announced her presence, she grabbed a hold of her dress, then watched as the door was pushed open.
She raised her head and ambled inside, halting immediately as all eyes fell on her, just the way she had expected.
But the weird thing was the fact that their eyes were not filled with hate, but rather an awe, attraction, and admiration.
'What is going on?' She asked herself and looked down at her dress, fearing that something may have happened to it, or she was wearing something that she shouldn't have worn.
[Is that her?]
[Heavens, she looks so beautiful]
[Wait a minute, is that her? She looks really pretty, unlike what I imagined]
Murmurs from almost everyone flew into her ears as a result of her sharp ears, and she raised her head to look at the emperor, who was staring intently at her with a slow smile spreading across his face.
She shifted her gaze to Daphne on feeling her intent gaze on her and flickered her eyes on seeing the darkened expression on her face.
"Hmm...." She narrowed her eyes into a thin line and walked forward to stand before the stairs that led up to the throne.
She looked at the emperor and smiled at him as she bowed a bit.
"Your majesty." She said, and the emperor nodded his head in a bit of surprise , having not expected her to behave this properly.
I mean, the last time she was invited to a banquet, she nearly disgraced him in front of his subjects.
"Rise." He acknowledged her presence, and Yennefer straightened up.
She glanced at the prince who was staring at her and shifted her gaze to Luthiel, who, with his emerald eyes, instantly met with her gray ones.
Her lips curled up into a smirk, and she funnily wiggled her brows at him, causing Luthiel to furrow his brows at her.
She held her dress up a bit and strolled towards the round table to sit among two ladies who nearly looked her into the ground with their eyes.
"Hello." She said it with a smile on her face, and the ladies looked her over from head to toe, then back up.
"Hello." They replied with haughty looks on their faces, and immediately realizing that the greeting would not work, she groaned in annoyance and took her seat on the chair.
"Don't mind if I sit here. These shoes are killing my feet."
She clicked her tongue, and the two ladies who found her words funny, chuckled.
"You must be Yennefer Bellegard." They asked, and she nodded at them.
"Yes, I am."
"You're quite beautiful. You exceeded our expectations." They complimented her, and Yennefer slowly turned her head to look at them.
"Meaning? Was I trying to impress you all in the first place? Tsk! " She scoffed, and before the two ladies could retaliate, she stood up from the chair and rolled her eyes at them.
"You two are very stupid!" She glared at them and stormed off towards the very long table, filled with deserts and different kinds of mouth-watering food.
"Wow..." Her eyes glowed, and she inhaled the delicious scent of the food.
"Now, this is what I came here for." She smacked her lips and grabbed a plate and spoon from the utensil sample.
She walked towards the rolls of chicken wings and grabbed the one she saw looked the most delicious and fine.
She placed it on her plate and, without a care in the world, she began to chew it, leaving Luthiel, who was looking at her from a bit far away, to scrunch his brows in disbelief.
"This is really good!" She exclaimed and quickly turned her head when she felt someone's presence beside her.
"You seem to be enjoying those wings quite a lot." The person, who was none other than Damon, said with a smile on his face, and Yennefer gazed at him, unable to deny the fact that this man looked very handsome.
All the men in this era are so good-looking, and for what?
A slow smile formed on her face, and she nodded her head at him.
"Mhm... it tastes really good." She replied, and Damon gazed at her, his eyes obviously admiring her.
"You have something on your li-" His words had yet to completely exit his mouth when the waltz suddenly began.
Yennefer turned and shifted her gaze to the dance floor, already seeing ladies and gentlemen walking in to have a classic dance.
"Do you want to have a dance?" Damon abruptly asked, and Yennefer looked at him, a bit surprised.
"Me?-" She pointed at herself. "-You want to dance with me?"
"Yes." Damon replied and grabbed a wipe from the table.
He used it to wipe off the sauce on her lips and took the plate from her.
He placed it back on the table and gently grabbed her hand.
"Just one dance."
He said to her, but Yennefer furiously shook her head.
"I am not really much of a dancer. I do not know how to dance." She smiled nervously at him, and he pulled her along with him, regardless.
They arrived on the dance floor, and he slowly placed his hand on her waist.
She placed hers on his shoulders and their other hands interlocked.
Then, slowly, they danced to the rhythm of the waltz.
"You're not as bad as I thought you would be." He commented, and Yennefer fluttered her eyes.
"I guess so..." She replied and danced with him as Luthiel stared at them from where he was standing beside the prince with no emotion on his face.
