Capítulo 56: The escape

We can do this, she thought. Just make it to that hole.

Lue kept a steady pace as she ran with other students along the green pathways towards the cliff. She'd grown used to running in The Maze, but this was completely different. The sounds of shuffling feet echoing up the walls and heavy breathing, being careful not to slip. The domains were certainly watching, listening. One way or another, there was going to be a fight.

"Scared?" Lue asked Atlas as they ran.

"No, I love things made of braindead humans and steel. Can't wait to see them." He felt no mirth or humor and wondered if there'd ever be a time again when he would.

"So. Funny." She responded.

She was right next to him, but his eyes were glued straight ahead. "We will be fine, just stay close to me and Beric."

"Ah, my knight in shining armor. What, you don't think I can fend for myself?"

Actually, he thought quite the opposite - Lue seemed as tough as anybody here. "No, I'm just trying to be nice."
