I Will Eventually Embark on the Path of No Return Called a Hero [Arc2] - 13. Remove the Legs or the Magic Circuits

---

"You call yourselves heroes! You refuse to lend a hand to someone who seeks your help. What kind of heroes are you!"

After Astolfo's furious shout, his master restrained him with a Command Seal and took him away, claiming she needed to teach him a lesson.

But judging by Astolfo's defiant expression, it probably wouldn't make any difference. Losing his rationality might make him act illogically, but it would also make him more determined than ever.

However, this was of no use...

He was no longer the free-spirited Charlemagne's Twelve Paladins but merely a constrained Heroic Spirit bound by a contract.

Jeanne d'Arc instinctively clenched her fists.

"Well then... the farce is over; it's time to get to the main topic," Vlad III stood up and extended his hand toward Cyd. "Hero of Pure White, are you willing to join my side? As you can see, your teacher is on the Black side."

Chiron looked somewhat awkward. If possible, he did not want to become a bargaining chip to sway Cyd, but after all, he was summoned by the Black Faction. Even if Vlad III did not mention it, the fact would not change.

Jeanne d'Arc looked at Cyd with concern.

"I don't have a Command Seal for you," Cyd shrugged.

"To us, your value far exceeds a Command Seal," Cyd did not immediately refuse, allowing Vlad III to see a possible opportunity.

Darnic was a bit excited. If Cyd joined their Black faction, they would gain an overwhelming advantage. Even without a Command Seal, Cyd's own combat power would be enough to disrupt the balance.

"No, you are a Ruler; you cannot interfere with either side," Jeanne d'Arc furrowed her brows.

"Jeanne, I am not asking you!" Vlad III's gaze turned cold, and a terrifying killing intent swept across the entire chamber, causing the nearby homunculi to kneel on the ground.

Siegfried silently stood in front of Gordes, shielding him from Vlad III's killing intent.

"Mind your own business," Gordes sneered.

Jeanne d'Arc fearlessly stared into Vlad III's murderous eyes.

"Don't worry, I won't help either side," Cyd waved his hand. "I will fulfill my duties as a Ruler."

"Is that so? What a pity," Vlad III sighed and sat back on his throne. "Don't you have any wishes you want to entrust to the Holy Grail?"

"Who knows~" Cyd did not deny having a wish.

Chiron was somewhat puzzled. He had always thought Cyd was summoned by the Holy Grail because of his fight against Kronos, but he felt like he was missing something.

"Let's end it here for today. If you want to tour the fortress, feel free to do so. Of course, if you change your mind, just let me know," Vlad III sighed lightly. "Darnic, fulfill his requests as much as possible."

"Understood, my King," Darnic nodded.

"May I speak with my teacher's master?" Cyd immediately made his request.

Sitting in her wheelchair, Fiore's heart skipped a beat, and she instinctively tightened her grip on the armrests.

Worried about your teacher, after all?

Vlad III smiled. "Please, go ahead."

"Well... Rulers aren't allowed to..." Jeanne d'Arc hesitated, tugging at the edge of Cyd's clothing.

"I'm just asking about her wishes," Cyd blinked and then waved at Fiore. "Let's step outside and talk."

"Alright," Fiore nodded, bracing herself.

"I'll accompany you," Caules winked at Frankenstein, then pushed Fiore out of the throne room.

Frankenstein tilted her head and then roared at Cyd.

"Ah~ I understand. I won't harm your master," Cyd waved at Vlad III as he left the throne room.

Jeanne d'Arc stood awkwardly in the throne room. Vlad III closed his eyes as if ignoring her, while Darnic bowed his head, giving orders to the nearby homunculi. Gordes' eyes wandered, his brows furrowing intermittently, lost in thought.

No one paid her any attention...

Jeanne d'Arc remembered Astolfo—the anguished roar and heart-wrenching eyes moved her. After thinking for a while, she left the throne room and walked towards Astolfo's location.

"Darnic," Vlad III opened his eyes. "Do you know why I don't want to deal with Jeanne?"

"I cannot see the King's thoughts," Darnic shook his head.

"Very simple. You should also notice that those clear eyes contain no desires," Vlad III reached out and took a glass of red wine from a nearby homunculus. "But I do not trust such people."

"May I ask..."

Fiore nervously looked at Cyd, who stood before her, head tilted and silent.

"Is there something you need?"

"Well~ I just want to understand your wish," Cyd stroked his chin.

"Ah... My wish is only one: to heal my legs," Fiore touched her legs and sighed.

"Well... this is not a condition or curse," Cyd raised two fingers. "I have two options."

Fiore's eyes lit up. If Cyd had a way to help her, she wouldn't have to fight Caules.

"Remove the legs or remove the magical circuits."

"Smack—"

Chiron punched Cyd on the head, then lowered his head apologetically toward Fiore. "Master, he was just joking."

"Is it funny?" Cyd grinned.

"So cold," Caules pushed his glasses and complained.

"Jokes aside, what you need is correction. The Holy Grail's miracle can easily solve this, but I personally suggest you give up the magical circuits," Cyd reached out and patted Fiore's head. "You two do not belong in this world."

"I... I will consider it," Fiore lowered her gaze.

"If possible, I actually want to help you," Cyd clasped his hands behind his head. "It wouldn't affect fairness, but there's someone on the other side who makes it difficult."

"Difficult? Ah... Is it her? That is indeed troublesome," Chiron patted Cyd's shoulder. "But no matter what choice you make, I will support you."

"However..." Cyd looked at the rising sun through the window. "Where are you?"

"Medusa..."

Sisigou blocked Mordred behind him, nervously looking at the purple-haired woman standing before him. Now he understood that feeling of every nerve in his body screaming.

"Are you... the Saber and Master of the Red Faction?" She slowly put on her sunglasses and walked in front of Sisigou.

"Yes," Sisigou swallowed hard. He wanted to run, but...

[My body won't move!]

Mordred's unwilling voice echoed in his mind.

Just making eye contact with her completely blocked Mordred's actions, and the only reason he could move was that he wasn't making eye contact with her due to the sunglasses.

Why did this Holy Grail War have such a monster!

And he had bumped into her!
