King concluded his training lessons with Ashley and he could already tell she held promise and potential. It was already expected of the Brown's, their family name had gained popularity in the secret society world thanks to the bloodshed associated with it. She was talented but still yet her potentials and everything didn't really entertain him, it was his brother that interested him more. He knew that when he read their minds he hadn't found anything interesting about the boy but the feeling and aura that surrounded him spoke of something different, something unique that he didn't know what to term so he had resolved to saying he was powerless instead of saying something he was unsure of
He called for Charles through his head for their casual weekly update on their newest addition, and maybe explain what he had sensed from the girls brother. He could be their hope and only chance of ending all this madness once and for all.
Charles arrived moments later after hearing Kings voice in his head. He had been discussing with James about teenage stuff since no one seemed to get along with him. He understood their reasons and he didn't blame them, they were entitled to their own opinions and he didn't want to impose on anyone's business or make anybody subject to his words. He had noticed the boy's loneliness and had taken it up on himself to be his playmate, and so far they'd been progress. They were getting closer and he was indeed beginning to see how the boy's father's actions had broken him and why he wanted revenge.
Being born with his abilities didn't make things easier for him and since he had no one to teach him how to control these gifts, he sometimes made the mistake of bringing things he did not want to life and ended up harming somebody he cared about. Everybody had termed him evil and called him all sorts of names and he was left without friends and the only body he could confide in was his mother. His whole life had turned upside down when his mother had died and it driven him insane. He had become a rogue boy and bullied others who were having life easier than him until a man had seen him playing with his gifts and had recruited him into the Guild.
His mother had always told him about his father, how caring fine and how he looked like him. She would never stop singing his praises and it annoyed him that he left home most times not to overdo anything out of rage. Things were getting a bit better for him in the Guild, he had friends who had the same abilities like him and didn't call him weird or evil. He never really knew how he got his powers and when he had asked and gotten his reply, he knew that this place was not meant for him. They were evil and everything they did was evil. He might be a bully but he didn't kill and everything concerning killing was not for him, talk less of being an associate with the devil.
He had planned to escape ever since he had found out about the origin of his powers, but he knew that him running away meant death for him and he wasn't ready to die not yet. If things could only get worse for him, he had finally met a face that matched the one his mother Sang about. He immediately knew this man was his father and his hatred for him grew more. Not only was he the worst father on earth, he was the leader of an occultic group that made human sacrifices to the queen of demons. His life was a complete disaster and he was gradually getting used to it.
The thoughts of escaping had suddenly left his mind and had been replaced with an even more impossible thought, revenge. Everything in him ached to kill the man who was responsible for him being in this condition, the man who was responsible for his mother's death. He wanted to kill him with everything in him and for that to happen, he knew he had to remain in this place where they thought him how to use his powers. He would get stronger here and when he was strong enough, he would end everything about this stupid and heinous society called the Satan's Guild.
Charles met with King and relayed all he had gotten to him. King was a good listener even though he was aware that the man had already learnt about everything when he had broken into his thoughts to call on him. But nevertheless, thoughts and memories could be altered and that was why the man paid rapt attention to his words just to make sure what he had read from his head corresponded with what he said.
After he had finished, his namesake stood still, his thumb and index finger playing around with the little goatee he had managed to grow.
King smiled inwardly to himself, things were going well so far and with this type of progress, their chances of winning was increasing day by day and it thrilled him. He finally let loose of the topic in his head and faced Charles once more. He had to tell him something he had forgotten to tell him about Justin during the night of the attack and even though it might seem he had held back important information, he couldn't really be blamed for it. He wasn't perfect after all.
"There's something else I should have told you about Justin" King said going straight to the point. There was no time to beat around the bush, he had to be direct about this so Charles could understand how confusing and important this message was
"What about him?" Charles asked his normal facial expression suddenly changing into a confused one.
"He's.... He's gifted"
