Mauve looked up at Louis as she tried to understand his words.
"Do I have to explain what I just said?" He asked.
She nodded.
He groaned, "Basically, you're already dealing with Jael's antics. You don't have to worry about anything else, you already have enough on your plate. You make him easy to deal with. If that's not enough work then you truly underestimate yourself. You don't need to help out with the chores or supervision or anything like that. We already have enough hands for that. If you want something to do because you're bored or whatnot, you can water your plants or knit or something."
"You're being very condescending."
"I am saying nobody thinks you're useless. You're the only one that thinks so."
"Oh," she said. Was this truly the case?
"Yes! Now let me go do my job while you keep dealing with your annoying husband."
Simultaneously the door to the library opened and Jael walked in.
